Hi, I'm sorry if this thread is in the wrong section, but I want to know how to dump a rom from a GameBoy Color cartridge, I have EZ-Flash II, I don't know if it can do the job, thanks for your response.

I've been a Gameboy Color for however long I've had this account and I find this topic highly offensive.

Is it a retail game or a prototype?

A Preview Version given to store or something like that, I have not received the cart yet so I can't say if there something different on it.

Your aforementioned hardware should come with instructions on how to do it. As long as you have the linker with the cables and included software, that is all you'd require.

I would recommend having this thread moved to the Prototype Central (http://digitpress.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15) sub-forum as I reckon that it would make more sense being there.

Well, only if it's determined to be a proto would that be appropriate.

OP, a lot of EZ Flash hardware/software was designed to run via parallel ports on systems prior to Win XP and the basic functionality of XP borked how those devices were recognized/run. They won't work on newer systems post 98 with the stock standard software.

Unfortunately I don't have any knowledge of what specifically you'll need, but I would search for something along the lines of "how to get an EZ Flash Linker to work on Windows XP/Vista/7".

Isn't an EZ-Flash II for Game Boy Advance cartridges? If that is the case, you're SOL. You need one of the older Bung GB X-Changer units, GameJack, etc.

Come to think of it, you're right. Bung did all the GB/GBC reader/writer units.

But yeah, I thought it was odd that the EZ-Flash II was being mentioned in conjunction with GBC cart dumping.

That's exactly what I have, I'll try Bung GB X-Changer if I can find it, thanks to everyone !

Bung Xchangers might be quite hard to find considering how long they've been out of production - the GB Transferer II will do the job as well though, you can still buy them new from EMS (http://www.hkems.com)'s very 90s looking website for $20.99 (plus shipping).

I bought one to dump a bunch of Taiwanese unlicensed games - which it couldn't do, since they're all either copy protected or they use weird mappers or something - but I also tried a few already dumped licensed games just to test it and it worked fine on those. Its parallel only though and I'm not sure if the software will run on anything post XP.
