Starpires - Modern port of Solar Realms Elite

Back in the early 90's I was totally addicted to a turn based, empire building, BBS game called Solar Realms Elite (SRE). Every day I couldn't wait until I got my next round of turns so I could log in and attempt to conquer the universe.

I had wanted to do a modern web based port of the game for over a decade but finally go the time to work on it over the last several months. This updated, web based take-off of SRE which I've been working on is now launched at http://starpires.com

I'd love to get feedback of the game and even though it's heavily updated graphics wise I hope it brings back some memories for the retro BBS gamers out there.

And then I saw it was a Facebook game. :bawling:

It's bad enough that everyone I know uses that website as their exclusive way of communicating with anyone else, I'm not going to help them slowly become synonymous with "The Internet" in general. Sorry.

I went back in today and added a non-facebook login option. So, you can check it out now without feeling that you are contributing to the downfall of the Internet :)

Especially the people who say, "Going out of town for two weeks! See you when I get back!"

OP: nice job. I may try it. Never tried SRE - always was a Yankee Trader player myself.
