More information on Xenosaga Ep II

GameSpot posted a story today with some more information and some screenshots on the new Xenogears game.

The article basicaly confirms what we allready knew -- that Shion's brother, Jin, is the main character in this one, although most of the cast from the last game is going to be back. The game is set some point in the future (as everyone looks much older and more mature) but how far is not known at this point.

What impressed me was Monolith and Namco saying the game is 35 percent done allready. @_@

Anyone want to make a bet with me? We might see this over here in the States by Christmas 2004! LOL

Hmm . .. I like the way they've apparently toned down the big-eye look for all of the female characters. The heavy anime vibe was somewhat unique for a 3-D RPG, I know, but Shion just looked bizarre at times in the first game. What about her glasses, though? D.F. Smith will be crushed.

You gotta love that subtitle, too. Could someone actually walk into an EB or Gamestop and ask with a straight face, "Do you have Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose?"

Oh hell, people will probably be asking for "Genesis van goes in boss."

Christmas 2004 seems nice, but I may as well wish for a pony too.

So they've redone the character models... I haven't played the first one yet, but I thought that's how they planned on getting these things out in decent time. You do all the models for one game, that takes forever, then you just craft new characters, new places, and you already have a graphics engine and a shitload of familiar faces/places to use and not have to recreate. Thats why they made FFX-2. What the crap, do they EVER want to finish this series?
