Protector SE obviously has the ability to allow you to run unencrypted/homebrew cd games. But what else?

A while back I read that someone actually preferred the original to SE but I don't remember why or can find that thread again.

Any input would be appreciated!

As I recall, the short version is Protector SE is more balanced, has a different level progression, and a few other things like that. Protector is also a great game, but the issue that it had was you really needed to do a run from the start of the game to get to the end. With Protector SE, I know that I and others talked with Carl about making it more accessible for everyone, and one of the big things was to make the first level after a save point not be nearly impossible to beat if you started on it.

They are both excellent games if you like shooters. If you're hardcore, Protector might get the nod, if you're not but enjoy shooters, Protector SE would.
