Well this isn't really a surprise to me since one of the things the Wii isn't known for is being a console for shooter fans. So the official announcement of Goldeneye Reloaded (http://www.industrygamers.com/news/activision-outs-goldeneye-reloaded-for-360ps3/) was nothing more than a formality to me. Along with improved graphics there will be extra missions, achievements/trophies and Move support for PS3. It's too bad that we never got the 10th anniversay remake originally made(and completed) for the 360 but this will still do.
I actually called this one last year in this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145222&highlight=perfect+dark&page=3). I hope Zap comes in here so I can rub it in his face:)

I'll be excited when I actually play it but I've been waiting too long for this.

Count me as "eh" for this announcement. The Wii version is a very solid outing, and while the 360/PS3 graphics look purdy, for me that's not enough to warrant a second purchase this soon. Plus, I find the Wii-mote/nunchuck combination to be the best way to play this game, though I guess that could be worked with Move but I don't own a PS3.

I know people mention this remake quite a bit, but do we know for a fact that this happened? Everything I looked up seemed like at best a rumor (granted, I haven't looked in depth in quite some time). Part of me wants to say that this is one of the greatest myths in videogame history.

Was there some sort of settlement reached?

I'm interested. Not crazy about it, but I'll at least give it a look. Hated the Wii controls.

So is this going to be the Wii version with upgraded graphics? The article says it's built on a new engine.

Yeah, I found the game to be pretty much unplayable with the motion controls, but it was a fun game (both single player and online) using the classic controller pro.

No, Activision just decided that if they actually want to make money then they need to not make stupid decisions like releasing an exclusive fps game on the console that is the least associated with fps gamers. For most people that was a no-brainer.

It's a new engine based off of the Wii version. From my understanding this is mainly because it's also going to be released on the PS3. If this was just going to be an upgraded 360 version we probably would have seen something completely different but who knows.

Guess we've just got to hope that the Goldeneye Source developers decide to do a 1-player mode.

Are these actual remakes of the old Nintendo 64 game or are they completely new levels? If they are completely new levels why does anyone call it a remake? It would be more like a sequel than a remake if that's the case.

They're not the same levels as the N64 version. The basic characters and story are the same, but due to licensing, Bond is played by Daniel Craig and the only other official actor is Judi Dench. It should be more referred to as "based on" rather than "remake".
The game is fun for the Wii, but I think they would have to do a lot with it to make it competitve in the field of PS3/360 FPS's.
