Hey Guys,

It's been a while since we've done any retro reviews, but one of our newest contributors decided to give the run down on the classic SNES game, Kirby's Dream Course.

"Released in 1995 for the SNES and then in 2007 on Virtual Console, Kirby’s Dream Course is a worthy addition to any retrogamer’s library. Produced in the tradition of Super Mario Bros 2, KDC was originally being developed as Special Tee Shot and only re-themed to include Kirby after much of the development had already been completed. As such, one would expect a certain amount of narrative dissonance, and it’s totally there. According to the manual the story of the game has something to do with Kirby trying to recover all of the stolen stars of the night sky from the evil King Dedede."

This is one of my favourite games. As far as minigolf is concerned, short of that recently-unearthed BS game that Steven brought to light, this is the best there is. There's a lot of ingenuity about the courses and hole-in-ones are possible with enough creativity. Multiplayer is fantastic and enormously intense turnarounds are definitely possible. Remember when this game was going under the name Kirby's Tee Shot? The review in question was solid, it basically said the expected in a pleasing way.

That game isn't BS ;)

But seriously, totally agree. I really enjoy KDC, but I like the BS game that much more.

1. BS Out of Bounds Golf (its actual game name is BS Golf Daisuki! O.B. Club)
2. Kirby's Dream Course (had it had a 4 player mode, maybe it'd tie with OB Club)
