Long story short, I'm interested in any home releases of these games. Here's what I've come up with so far:

- Warriors of Fate appears on the NES as "Destiny Of An Emperor"

This game exists, can someone confirm that it's Warriors of Fate?

- Warriors of Fate for the MegaDrive

Only found mention of this, is it out there and will it run on a Genesis through adapter?

- Warriors of Fate II as a Saturn import

I found a review of this one, but without any images - does it exist?

- Dynasty Wars for the PC Engine

Seems to be legitimate - does it appear for the TG16 under a different title?

If anyone can confirm/deny the above, or point me in the direction of anything that's missing from this "list", I'd greatly appreciate it!

I'm not completely familiar with the series, but maybe I can help a little here. First of all, it might help to know that the games you're talking about are part of the "Tenchi wo Kurau" series in Japan. Tenchi wo Kurau 1 (arcade) was translated for world markets as Dynasty Wars, and Tenchi wo Kurau 2 was brought to the US as Warriors of Fate. There never was a Warriors of Fate 2 to my knowledge.

There were two Tenchi wo Kurau games released by Capcom for the Famicom (the first was brought to the US as Destiny of an Emperor), but they are NOT ports of the arcade games of the same name. The Famicom Tenchis are actually RPGs, not side-scrolling beat-em-ups like the arcade Tenchis were. Really confusing stuff, especially since Capcom made both series of games.

As for the other ports...I've never heard of or played any ports of Tenchi wo Kurau for the Megadrive or PC Engine, but it's not entirely unlikely that they were made. I can confirm, though, that Tenchi wo Kurau 2 (Warriors of Fate) was ported to the Saturn and Playstation, as I've played both versions.

Hope that helps.

I'm 95% sure that Warriors of Fate appears on the SUPER Famicom as Tenchi wo Kureu. I'm unfamiliar with the PC Engine version and I know the NES/Famicom versions are nothing like the arcade game (which I love too, by the way - it's Final Fight on horseback! w00t!

Ah, this is helpful already: saved me from buying Destiny of an Emperor!

Now, is this Tenchi wo Kurau 2 that appears on the Saturn/PSX the game I'm actually interested in, or is it the RPG thing instead? And the possible Tenchi wo Kureu on the SFC - arcade style or RPG? The last thing I need around here is another RPG that I won't play :)

Ok.....flat out....here's what you need to know.

1. The only port of Dynasty Wars/Tenchi Wo Kurau (the Capcom beat em up) was for PC Engine, and it was called Tenchi Wo Kurau. It's damned rare but cool. That's the one where you're horseback thru the whole game. If you're lucky, you'll find it under $50, but you'll have to HUNT for it. I have a review and cover shot of it on my website here: http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/maxlords/reviews/tenchi_k.html

2. Tenchi Wo Kurau 2/Dynasty Wars 2 by Capcom for Saturn IS the only home port of Warriors of Fate. It's also fairly rare and will most likely run you upwards of $50 too. Average price for it is about $60.

Other than that, as far as I know, there were NO other ports of those games. There may be a Japanese PSX port of Tenchi Wo Kurau 2, but I'm weak on import PSX. To my knowledge, ALL other ports for Famicom and SFC are the RPG versions. I've also never seen or heard of a Mega Drive port of the Capcom beat em ups. I know my facts are straight on the Saturn and PCE though, cause I have both games :D

Max - Thanks much for that information! And I hate you ;)

As an aside, would anyone have one and like to trade it? (That includes Max - I don't really hate you!) You're so right about that sucker being pricey though... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3536679598&category=3656

Well, try asking www.markinjapan.com for it, or www.thewestexit.net, or maybe www.wolfgames.com

They're the most likely importers to be able to get them at a reasonable price. Other thanthat..I'll keep my eyes out. My buddy in Cali bought the PCE one on eBay for a $35 BIN last week....total steal...got lucky. I haven't seen it much at all there though.
