I remember playing this top down racing/driving game. It was a cross country type game with multiple paths you could take and had a time limit. I seem to remember the game changing from night into day and vice versa. It had the same top down view of a Micro Machines game.
Any guesses as to what it might be? Sorry that I can't remember more.
Got any video links or screens?

No it's not. This game was fully top down like the NES Micro Machines and had a very primitive look to it. It was probably from the 80's. Hopefully someone has it.

Oh, dear lord, this HAS to be the game that Mike was showing me on the new DP MAME racing cabinet. He loves the theme song. I'll go ask him.

Stocker (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9789)?
Pretty much the only Bally Sente game I enjoy. Also, as Eric Clapton said, it's in the way that you use it (http://www.reelzchannel.com/trailer-clips/50532/the-color-of-money-clip/).
Used to play it a ton on my old Pole Position MAME cabinet until I decommissioned it.

Insane David nailed it, that's it! Brings back some fond memories at the roller rink when I was a kid. Such a fun game.

One of the few driving games that doesn't have an accelerator pedal.

There were a few notes in the music that always reminded me of a Chevy jingle they used in promotions back in the 50's and 60's ("See the USA in Your Chevrolet").
I wonder if it was intentional or just a coincidence. Either way, I love this game.

KillerSquirel was late on the draw, that was the game he had showed me.
