It's pending.

Up for consideration is an original Sweet Micro Systems Mockingboard M. It is designed for the Apple II family with the exception of the IIc (obviously). This was the last revision of the Mockingboard released and because of that it added the two features most requested - a built in headphone / speaker jack and a passthrough jumper which allowed the Mockingboard to connect to the standard Apple II speaker. In other words you connect the Mockingboard to the Apple II speaker output and then connect the speaker to the Mockingboard speaker jumper.

It utilizes two General Instruments AY-3-8913 chips for six audio channels, three left, three right so stereo effects can be created. There is also an open socket for a SSI-263 speech chip (which you can still buy today, $75.00 a pop for the chip alone).

It also includes the original Sound Development Tools diskette. This card was working 100% when last used less than two months ago. I no longer have my Enhanced IIe and my IIgs is packed away in storage at my parent's house, so I can't do a current test run of the card. Unfortunately I never recorded any audio / video of it in operation that I can present here. However it works fine as I played around with it via the tools diskette and in Ultima IV last March.

Currently the clone Mockingboards run $60.00 + shipping when you can find them. For one reason or another, the serious hobbyists seem to want the original article. I'm looking for $170.00 shipped USPS Priority Mail, fully insured with delivery confirmation. If it doesn't sell I have no problem hanging onto this and installing it in my IIgs.

If you are interested but think the price is too high, please send me a lower offer.

I also have a full set (4 IC's - processor, character ROM, pair of ROM firmware chips) of Enhanced IIe chips that I can toss in for free. These will upgrade a standard IIe to an Enhanced IIe. The Enhanced IIe upgrade chips were pulled from a decaying board early last year and should work but should also be considered untested.
