Look at the comments made by "Steve Marsden" and especially "shane whiteaker". >:( I like the SMS too, but calling the NES s***? That guy's crossed the line...

Do SMS fanboys piss you off too?

Well, i´m a SMS fan and i never say that the NES is a shit, for example, because i played and actually play the NES a lot and have excellent games, although i play more with the SMS.
Naff Entertainment system?? :/ , man you´re wrong

All video game fanboys who feel it necessary to berate an entire faction of gamers because of the system they prefer piss me off.

Carry on.

bah@fanboys!

But....I honestly do like SMS overall more, even tho the NES had a lot more good games.

Well, if he thinks the NES is shit that is his opinion. We are for freedom of speech the last time I checked :)

it is his opinion, just a very hard one to justify. I too greatly prefer the SMS over the NES. However I don't think I'd ever say it's a bad system. It's not even badly made, just one bad decision on the 72-pin that can be easily fixed.

I have a hard time with anyone saynig any system is total crap unless it's just beyond a doubt crap. Like the R-Zone. or the CD-i.

I personally think the NES (toaster) design is shit compared to the SMS design. But as for games I love many games on both systems. They pretty much go hand in hand in my book of game systems I loved in my younger years.

Chances are, if you found a similar NES page, you'd find the same insults directed at the Master System. ;)

Personally, I prefer the SMS - but then I grew up with Sega consoles as opposed to Nintendo. I collect both now, but Sega stuff will always mean more to me.

It's the same as Ford vs. Chevy or Cubs vs. Sox.
If you are dedicated to the product then it's rival is the enemy.

My opinion:

Chevy's rule and the Cubs suck ass. Oh ya SEGA!

I thought it was about the games and how fun they are. Screw what system it's on, if it's fun I'm getting it. 8-)

I was merely stating a fact. Though I like both, I'm not a fanboy of either. If I'm a fanboy of anything it's the 5200 :)

You all might find this hard to believe...but it is true. The reason I got
into the SMS was that I could not get the NES games to work, they
would always blink or give me a blue screen. In fact the only way I
ever got NES games to work was to take an NES apart and use
whatever I could to lock the games in place.

For the most part SMS games are far superior to NES ones. Double
Dragon just to name 1. Tower Toppler (i can't remember the exact title)
for the NES is well below than the one for the 7800, besides the 7800
has better bonus rounds, I know I played both. Besides name me 1
other system (other than the T-16) that you can play both at home
and on the road (via a Game Gear).

Let's see Nes games on the Game Axe maybe.

The GAMES make the SYSTEM, not vice versa.

True, bashing, and idiotic fanboys should all be shot (but I like having the free speech to say that).

I knew a fanboy of Resident Evil and ONLY Resident Evil. He came up to me one day in class (we shared Geometry) and tried to convince me that he knew more about GAME than I did, and thus a trivia war was started. He asked me only questions about Resident Evil that I couldn't answer (I don't like RE, so I didn't know RE), and I asked him questions on practically everything OTHER than RE and he couldn't answer. He finally shut up when I asked him a question about RE that he didn't know (the director of it: Shinji Mikami) and thus I won. He never tried to boast to me again. :D

Oh how I hate fanboys...

When you really think about it, hte NES really is kinda shitty compared to the SMS, (heck you can have sprites with 15 colors on them on the SMS, but only 3 on the NES) Unforetunately, the NES had way more games, and virtually every trick the hardware could pull off was extremely well documented among programmers, where as the SMS had hardly anyone pushing it's boundaries.

In conclusion SEGA RULES, Nintendo drools!

Personally, I always preferred the NES. Yes, the Master System was technically better (esp graphics), but the appalling decision to stick the Pause button on the top of the console sent the SMS down a few notches in my book. I haven't used an SMS for a long time: was the Pause button on the original console? I know it was on the SMS II, the one relased in 1990.

Even though I have always preferred Nintendo to Sega, I have previously owned both a Genesis and a Dreamcast. I never liked the Genesis (just a personal preference) but the Dreamcast was/is a fantastic console. It still brings a tear to the eye to think how Sega pulled the plug on it.

Yup - it's on the first version too. I never found it too much bother personally. It was occasionally annoying on those games where the pause button was actually utilised a menu screen (one of the Wonderboy games used this if I remember rightly). Maybe I was just grateful of even having a pause button in the first place considering there are quite a large number of spectrum games with no pause...

Wow, I always found it an amazingly bizarre decision by Sega to stick the Pause button on the console and not the controller. You are right that it was great if you were used to having no Pause button whatsoever, but it kinda sucked to be in the middle of a game then have to get up and walk across the room to pause it!

Ah the Speccy...I used to have a 48K (rubber keys!) and a +2 machine. Many a day was spent playing Gauntlet, Star Wars, Double Dragon and Emlyn Hughes International Soccer. Trust me, at the time, the latter was a terrific game. No really, it was... Anyone remember Horace Goes Skiing?!?!

Haha, that's just ignorance. Yup, fanboys like that suck. Ya know, I don't even have a problem with people bashing a console... if they give intelligent reasons to back up their claim. Actually, I normally don't care. I do like toying with people like that. It's so fun to piss them off. :P

Hate to bump an old topic, but I have my NES and my SMS setting next to each other. I think an NES or an SMS fanboy would probably get a heart attack from the sight! Now I gotta get a 7800 so I can induce more heart attacks!

EDIT: I now have a 7800! Now, if you'll excuse me...

Some may think it sucks to get up and go to the console to pause the game? How about the fact that the pause button is RIGHT NEXT to the reset button, and they are both shaped exactly the same to boot. Many a time I got up to pause a game only to reset it. Argh!!

Fanboys are NOT teh rule. They are as opposite to being teh rule as possible. Don't get me started on the jackasses on the GameFAQs boards. If I was a mod, I'd lock every friggin' topic. They don't deserve to post. :2gunfire:
