Though I've been into game collecting for some time, I haven't purchased many peripherals and really don't need anything other than the standard controller to play my games.
Someone listed a Smash Controller. Is this controller really hard to come by, or is the seller just trying to get more money for it like the people that list the "2600 Pac-Man as VERY RARE"?
The auction number is 220825201399 .
Thanks

It is not cheap but without the box, it's definitely not worth $250. Absolutely rare as hell though.
The Innovation Smash Controller is the US version; the Mallet Legend one is non-US. Both controllers are identical so the box is the distinguisher (kind of like the Famil Fun Fitness Pad on the NES).
I have the US version (2 actually, one of which is trapped in CGE storage) if you want to know more on what the box says.

I used to have some sort of whack a mole game a few years back, made by Realtec. I think I sold it here. So that ... thing was meant to be used with it? Wow.

For what its worth the Mallet Legend version was bundled with the game, the US version was sold separately. Both seem to be equally rare though.
