View Full Version : I've finally decided to get rid of my collection (pics)

Hello all, this is my first post. After a decade of collecting random stuff I've decided to live a leaner lifestyle. This means getting rid of 80-90% of all my stuff. Most of that is classic gaming stuff that I've collected over the years. I'm looking to sell this all in bulk and I could really use some suggestions. I'm not looking to make cash, I'm just looking to not get suckered (if that makes any sense).

My best example would be this: Consider a car is being sold, say an 02 Infinity QX4. The sale price of that car is around $12k, I'd be willing to walk away happy @ 8-10k. I'm not looking to make a profit but I'm not out to give someone the deal of the century :D

I just went through a few of the boxes of cartridges and consolidated them into one box ( http://imgur.com/a/UtX3r ). I'm expecting this to be all commons, however, are there one or two things that stand out? Also I organized some of my [nes](http://i.imgur.com/hqano.jpg) games

Oh yeah... [boxes and boxes of consoles](http://imgur.com/a/C5aUV)

I've got 12 more boxes to go through... yech... I believe the rest of the boxes are just wires and boxed cartridges, I'm not expecting to find another box filled with cartridges or consoles

I wish I could tell what some of those actually were. A list would be nice. Or at least a better arrangement of the boxes so there's less sun glare and they're not stacked atop each other.

Yeah sorry about that, I'm just trying to get it all in order and never took the time to do a real inventory. Once I get the rest of the boxes taken care of I'll try to do an index of the cartridges

That "garbage heap" looks like a bunch of older computer stuff. How did you deem it trash?

OH MY GOD THOSE POOR PC GAMES IN THE GARBAGE BIN

How could you.

HOW COULD YOU DO THAT?! D:

You're gonna make me cry! I would've taken a lot of those for even $1 each! Or more!

Man I'd love to give those away for free (pc games) but nobody was interested, I figured they were all junk (and they take up a ton of space). I wasn't happy binning them either.

It's not like I set fire to it, I can pull them out of the bin, I'll go do that and take more pics, ok?

Here's the good condition PC games ( http://imgur.com/a/7W3GX ) - the bin is a little deceptive as there was a bunch of non-collection related stuff in there (10 years of blank cd cases, 10 years of printer paper etc etc)

FYI i'd be willing to give this all away for FREE if someone who lived in the Minnesota area would build me a cabinet that I could inset a computer inside w/monitor (cocktail two seater cabinet). I'd even pay for all the materials. My only requirement would be that it would have to be someone that actually knew woodworking and would be willing to make one out of real wood (not particleboard/plywood) with some degree of expertise... do you think that is possible? I know it is an odd req, but I figured it'd be worth a shot.

Those Infocom games can be worth a lot if they're complete with all feelies.

Blood Bowl may be interesting to a Warhammer fan.

I'm actually interested in that Street Fighter game, the one in the clamshell...

Edit: Also, is that Manhunter in one of the photos?

yeah but unfortunately it really is garbage, as I was going through one of the boxes got wet sometime in the past so I had to chuck 15 sega cd games and 5 computer games (not salvageable), luckily the rest of the box was just music cds.

Ah crap, Street Fighter is 5.25"... I can't take that.

But those Infocom games are worth a LOT on eBay. Sell them there.

Good to know, thanks! I've come across quite a few of the infocom stuff (boxed just like mine) but I didn't think they were worth anything. Next time I hit the thrift stores I'll see if they are still around (probably not by now).

Either a list or comprehensive clear pics. You'll get, at the very least, direction for your sales like Kitsune offered.

Posts have a ... six or ten image limit. I think there's also a limit on how many links you can post due to spambots.

Post approved.

A rapid succession of posts by a new user makes the forum software think that you're spamming and not really a user but a spambot.

Remember, forums postings arn't quite like Instant Messaging. It's ok to either edit a post (at least here) or to wait for a response before you dump a few more posts.

All you needed to do was edit a previous post to add some of the info in, that you were using to make new posts (those 3 PC posts that dropped between 6 PM and 6:20 PM).

Good luck with your impending sales.

Take a look in the Section Z NES box. Is there a map there? That map is worth straight cash. I would sell that on its own.

Also, the Battletoads Double Dragon NES can net you $30-$40.
