I played both a little, To be honest, I didn't like either, but I'd have to give it to WSB. The game signaled a huge change in the way batting is handled. So for that reason alone I'd pick WSB.

I think they play too differently to choose one over the other. I like them both quite a bit, but I've played Griffey more recently.

On a related note, NES Baseball Stars is perhaps my favorite (and most played) baseball game of all time, though it hasn't aged as well for me as I'd hoped.

16-bit baseball games? No question, my favorite by far is Hardball III for the Genesis. Not the SNES one though, that's just a port of Hardball '94 from the Genesis, I like III better... and the SNES one has passwords only too, as opposed to the battery save... and not just for your season, you can even save a game in progress, just like PC Hardball III! Hardball III, '94, and '95 on the Genesis all have this feature; only Hardball! for the Genesis and "Hardball III" for SNES use passwords.

... But yeah, I just love Hardball's design. That one-button, menu-style control mechanism, the graphics, the gameplay, the camera (having big overhead views of the field, instead of a tiny zoomed in view like in those other games)...

Yeah, I like Hardball's design so much better than either Griffey or WSB. I remember getting Griffey 1 for the Game Boy back in '96 or '97, I was hoping it'd be good, but was really disappointed with the game, in comparison to Hardball III for the PC, to the point where Griffey was one of only two games I ever sold at a yard sale. (The other was Toy Story for the GB, probably the worst game I bought in the 1990s, in my opinion at the time anyway.) As for World Series Baseball, I've played some of them, but they're just okay, not great.

if i had to choose i would say WSB for the Gen. If i could choose any i would say Hardball 95 for the Gen.

So with a username like Genesisguy I guess I have to pick WSB? I had WSB as a kid and loved it. Although looking back it really changed the feel of baseball games for the rest of gaming and took a bit of the arcadey feel out.

I got Ken Griffey a few years ago when I started collecting and was pleasantly suprised. Today WSB and Griffey would be a toss up tie for 2nd place to my all time favorite baseball game... RBI '94!:onfire::onfire:

World Series II Baseball on the Saturn took everything great about the pervious serious games and gave two better batting angles and a hell of a lot more features and also every single ballpark in Major League Baseball. You could even create your own expansion teams and entire rosters during a season through the Diamondback and Devil Rays. There are minor league players and rain delays and injuries. Basically if it happens in baseball, this game has it. Also digitized actors a la Mortal Kombat.

Didn't think either of the Griffey games on SNES were any fun. Meanwhile, I played through god knows how many seasons of WSB on the Genesis with either the Blue Jays, Braves or Red Sox.

Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the SNES was the bomb. Nothing else came close. Homerun Derby, I was always Griffey, my brother was always Frank Thomas (whatever his pseudoname was), loser mowed the lawn. Good times. I probably played through full season a dozen times.

Personally I don't think World Series Baseball '98 plays as well, but both are definitely two of the best baseball games ever. After those I wouldn't even bother with World Series Baseball on Genesis at all, or Sports Talk or Tommy Lasorda. '98 recycled a lot of the stuff that was already in II as well.

I've got one, but I've never tried it with Griffey. I laughed out loud right now when I read that. Gonna have to try this out with a friend and see if this happens.

Hopefully your bat works. Mine bit the dust a long time ago. The only bad thing is that when you swing you have to be careful that the cord doesn't snap up and hit someone. That shit hurts.
