I was searching around to see the going price for a console only PS2 fat. It looks like they are going for up to $50 plus shipping and it doesn't even matter if they work or not.

Are they really that much in demand or did I just come across a hot period for sales?

The fat PS2s are selling for $29.99 plus tax with hookups and controller at the EB Games near me. No way are they worth $50 anymore, the slims seem to be worth around $40 now(these are still more than that at EB Games, but locally they sell for around $40 with hookups and controller).

you could back-up PS2 games on it & play emulators
