Pac-Man Memorabilia identification

Anyone want to take a stab at this one? Came rolled inside a small piece of cardboard labeled "Pac-Man Video Cartridge #2." Just sort of a piece of paper that describes game strategy. Made by Diamond Toymakers (and yeah, the pic is bad, but enough to get the point):

Did the cardboard packaging look like an old film cartridge? I say this because it looks like it's meant to mimic a film strip. This would also explain why the cardboard was labeled as a "video cartridge".

Nada. It's a blue piece of stapled cardboard that's open on both ends.

I'm thinking like you are though, that it went to something you would wind and then turn to view the frames. It begs the question why you wouldn't just look at it straight out, which would certainly be easier, but whatever...

I recall in science class as a kid making a manual film strip viewer detailing the life cycle of a butterfly. The teacher had us write\draw out the entire cycle on a long strip of paper, then we made a small box with knobs on either end to scroll the strip with. It was a fun way to get us to learn.

I think you're right that this is a toy version of that, unfortunately I can't find any images of one. This seems like the type of toy that might hang on the pegs of a discount store in the 80's.

I found this. According to the Virtual Pac-Man Museum it scrolled and played music. Perhaps you have a reel from one of these toys? I don't know.

Well, there is potential there. It would have to be a REAL small TV, but it's the closest thing yet.

You would think in the age of the internet, with a company name and other stuff, this type of thing would end up online somewhere.

Edit: I e-mailed the guy who runs the site. Maybe he'll know for sure.
