Yes. Spy Hunter and Action Fighter come to mind.

Road Fighter.. cool game. It's hard to beat those moments when you screw up and find yourself being bounced helplessly from one car to another yet somehow manage to make it out alive. Something of a holy shit/skin-of-your-teeth sort. You might like Zippy Race, it has the same sort of presentation although it's not really that exciting.

Rally Bike for the NES might interest you.

Three replies, and no one mentioned Bump 'n' Jump?
Up 'n' Down is a slightly different style, but also worth mentioning.

Micro Machines? It's sort of the same, and you can fight the other drivers in different stages.

While the game had a full 3D sequel in 1995 (that wasn't that great, sequel in name only) (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8689), you should check out what I consider to be the true sequel - Konami GT (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=8346) / Konami RF2 Red Fighter.
It's essentially Road Fighter from an inside the car perspective. I used to play it a ton on my old MAME driving cabinet.
Sure it's not an overhead perspective game, but it really does feel like the natural extension of Road Fighter.
