What a way to start off the weekend. I came to work today (2 weeks @ new job btw) and one of my coworkers brings in a box of Atari 2600 stuff. He said he overheard me talking about classic gaming stuff and he was about to throw it out so he offered it to me.....whatever would be a fair amount. I didn't have my DP guide with me so I couldn't check prices or anything but here's what he had.....

2600 4 switch Atari console
2 Wico Controllers
2 paddles
1 joystick
2 remote control wireless joystick Mint condition in the box with instructions (the smell of "new" classic hardware is a wonderful thing!)

and the following games which included manuals (no boxes though :/ )

Asteroids
Barnstorming
Bowling
Boxing
Casino
Combat
Frogger
Frogs and Flies
Gorf
Grand Prix
Missile Command
Mr. Do!
Ms Pac-Man
Oink!
Pac-Man
Phoenix
Pitfall!
River Raid
Seaquest
Sky Jinks
Spider Fighter
Star Raiders
Super Breakout
Super Challenge Baseball
Video Pinball
Wizard of Wor

I offered him $40 for it all and he said ok....WOOOHOOO. Now I gotta find out how much some of this stuff is worth...

Er... why do you need to find out "what it's worth?" Why not just play it and enjoy it? :/

Most of the carts will likely end up as trade bait, since I already have most of them but this is the first time I've seen a pair of those wireless controllers. I'm just curious as to their value...

I've got to go with Scoots here, the value really isn't relevant. Offer them up on your tradelist and just get what you can for them if you don't want them. Hell, I have a pending trade right now where I offered a Genesis and a Dreamcast for an Intellivision because I wanted the Intellivision more than the other two consoles. It's all about what you want to play... value is really secondary.

I agree with both of ya....believe me, I love plaing my 2600 stuff, actually Ive had a nice atari system that I wanted to post in the buying and selling forum, but I haven't had access to a digital camera until a few days ago. When this came up, I was just excited about the wireless joysticks because we don't see many of those around here. I literaly didn't know how much to offer for the package. I was just wandering If I made out ok....I think I did....

If you buy a DP guide, that will tell you the price. Depending on which sticks they are, I believe they are "worth" about half of what you paid for the whole lot.

Anyhow, stopped in Goodwill after dropping off some donations:

Blue Game Gear + Lion King (no battery covers :( ) $8
Gameboy Player (open box deal, system & disk are minty & working!) $20
3 sets of string lights for a softer, more inviting Room of Doom $12

Gameboy Player's at Goodwills already!! @_@

Oh and I finally found a mint copy of Gradius III & IV for PS2!

Also picked up a ASCII Grip controller for $3 neat looking one-handed deal. Pretty cool for RPGs and the sort.

Looking forward to a Saturday at the flea market. :)

I just scored Cyber Shinobi, New Zealand Story, and Tom & Jerry for SMS on eBay.

While everyone's saving up to go back to school, go on vacation, or go to CGE, I'm buying ALOT on eBay. While the hardcore collector's away, the RACCOON will play!

Got Scooby-Doo Mystery for SNES at a pawn (same pawn where i scored Xenogears, Sudioken, Musashi, and 2 Armored Core games for $40 earlier this week) for $4.

Also got Fatal Frame for PS2 coming in the mail as part of a trade I just finalized. Not a bad week!

Samurai Showdown, Mortal Kombat II, Street Fighter II Turbo, Midway Atari Classics for SNES (loose) - $5

QBasic for Dummies - $1

All loose but good condition:

NES:
Rescue Rangers
Vice: Project Doom
Super Dodgeball

Genesis:

Space Invaders 91

...$14

3.50 a piece I guess. There must not be a lot of competition at the flea I'm going to since I'm coming in fairly late in the afternoon. There's some dedicated dealers with some crazy prices though.. like $20 for every Gameboy cart and 10 dollars for boxed SNES ex-rentals that are trashed.

3 Breath of Fire IV Players Guides from a local game store for $11.99 a peice. Guides are going on EBAY, I never use guides, takes away my feeling of accomplishment when I beat something. Overall a slightly below average Saturday. Albeit I got off to a really late start (9ish). Hopefully Sunday I will fare a helluva lot better.

i got a boxed nes joystick for .89, a third party nes controller for 1.99 and 4 of the most complete nes games i've ever seen in my life. it has everything the games came with when it was purchased from the store. it has the little styrophome thing at the very bottom of the box, it has all the plastic wrapper thingys to cover the carts and manuals and stuff, and one game is partially sealed. it has the original shrinkwrap on it. its just been open at the top where he could open it and play the game. but anyway, the games are...

archon
the fantastic adventures of dizzy
the immortal
attack of the killer tomatoes

it was a pretty good find.
