In your honest opinion wich spawned the worst movie?
I keep seeing street fighter as the worst video game movie. Honestly I'd rather watch that then the Mario bros movie... At least you can laugh at street fighters cheesiness...
I haven't and don't plan on seeing that chun li flick either.
Silent hill...now that was a decent video game movie!!!
Full disclosure I'm a big street fighter/capcom fan.
Sorry if this don't belong in this section...

Street Fighter The Movie is a great movie to laugh at.

I would say the Super Mario Bros movie is worse. There were just too many things wrong compared to the series of games. As cheesy as the cartoon/live action show was, I would have preferred it to the movie!
Street Fighter is a movie that I think is so bad its good. Raul Julia added class to the movie and Kylie Minogue makes for a sexy Cammy. :)

Mario Bros was to me, easily much worse. I almost contemplated buying the SF movie at Giant Tiger the other day for 4 bucks. I didn't, but still lol. I wouldn't take SMB for free.

Mario Bros was a FN horror show. It's like the people who made the movie had no idea where to even start. Probably one of the worst movies of all time. Street Fighter was just a sh!tty movie, but better than Mario Bros by far.

I personally kinda liked street fighter. It was cheesy yea. But still was a fun movie. And cammy was pretty cute!
The chun li movie wasn't bad. But very slow moving IMO.
Mario bros IMO is a fun campy popcorn flick where you sit down with some friends and make fun of it all mystery science theater 3000 style. Where they got half the ideas for that movie lord knows. But still fun campy movie

Street Fighter was a great movie. And I mean that with all sincerity.
I don't understand how everybody who watches it can say, "It's fun to watch, it entertains me, it is amazingly quotable. But...it's bad."
There's never any justification for calling it a bad movie. People spend all this time praising it yet at the end just call it bad as if that's just what you're expected to say. Just blindly "yup, bad movie" with no logical connection to what actually makes a movie good or bad.
The thing about Street Fighter is that it does it's job perfectly. It had a goal and succeeded with flying colors. The goal was obviously to make a live action Saturday morning cartoon and it used G.I. Joe as the primary source material, making it a better G.I. Joe movie than the actual G.I. Joe movie.
It's not "so bad, it's good." It's "so good, it's good." If people can look back at the 80s with G.I. Joe, Transformers, TMNT, and Thundercats and call those genuinely good shows then they have no business calling Street Fighter anything except equally good.

The Street Fighter movie game some awesome quotes from Raul Julia. Mario Bros was just abject tosh. Street Fighter must be one of the best game to movie adaptations ever, mainly because the majority are crap.

I thought that Street Fighter: The Movie was fucking abysmal.
True story: My friend saw it in the theatre when it was released and the film actually burned up towards the end. It was just like the scene in Gremlins, where they're watching Snow White and film burned up on the screen. He said when it happened, everyone in the audience started cheering.
I suppose I'm in the minority, but I actually liked Super Mario Bros. The Movie. I thought that I'd HATE it, but I actually committed to watching it for the first time last year, and I found it pretty entertaining, and FAR better than I figure it'd be.
I think Silent Hill is the best live action game based movie I've seen to date.

I thought Street Fighter sucked, but Mario Bros and the Double Dragon flick were both a hell of a lot worse.

That same thing happened at the theater when I saw Titanic, just before intermission.

Super Mario Bros. The Movie is not the greatest movie. Almost every person I have spoken with have said it sucks, but I find it entertaining. I would rather sit down and watch it any day over Street Fighter The Movie. At least Nintendo didn't make a game based on the movie like Street Fighter did. Street Fighter The Movie: The Game? Really? To shame Capcom.
