I picked up a nifty looking Mega Man X controller for the GC tonight. I didn't even know that one existed. Any idea on how much it might be worth? It came with the controller, the controller box and instructions. It's in pretty good shape, no crazy ware other than the sticker on the box (which is just rubbed a bit but still plenty legible).

Thanks!

That thing is worth money? I saw them all the time when they were new. They didn't look that good... just a skinned version of a Madcatz controller almost.

Those MadCatz controllers were terrible. I don't know if it was the membranes inside or the PCB itself but I never could get used to the response times they offered.

What baffles me is why anyone would WANT to use a Gamecube controller for Mega Man X. That's just masochistic, I'll never understand.

Hey now, I managed to get pretty good at MMAC and MMXC on GameCube... some people don't own much PlayStation stuff.

Forget Playstation, use a Hori GC gamepad. Although, if you don't own one now, you probably won't want to bother... they go for stupid money these days.

... Jesus, what?!

The douchebag who ran my US hometown's only "retro" store sold these for $30! Dammit, I should've bought these before he left town after the quake. :(

Nah it's the GC layout differences, they make it awkward. Capcom's default SNES/PSX config for MMX games just about requires having one finger control three buttons (charge jump shoot). Never tried a Dreamcast pad hehe.

I have to disagree, I had no problems with response time or anything with the MadCatz controller I used. (I actually have 2 Official Nintendo GC controllers and until it eventually broke, used the MadCatz Controller Macro(?) http://www.gamersace.com/images/Gcube-MadCatz-Black.jpg Until It eventually met its demise.)

Oh. I've got the game, got the controller... Must confess I never tried them together. Too bad!
