Cybernator doesn't have the cute look to it, but it's a similarly styled platform combat game that is really fun. It's also kind of hard to find, so it may not be at gamestop. Otherwise, um... I can't think of any others, but I'm sure others will know.

Kirby Super Star isn't a fighting game, but it's not entirely dissimilar. (It is by Hal labs, after all.)
