Well, as I familiarize myself with these forums, I keep thinking "Oh yeah? I bet someone on DP could ID this!" So into my box of strangess I delved. This came up 1st.

As always, any help is appreciated! I tried the net, of course, but try Googling 'Colt light gun' and see how many firearms you get! Obviously 1st Gen, what system is it for? Oh, it has a round, 3 post connector, if that helps.

Looks like a Telstar Marksman Gun. Is the Barrel and stock removable?

Thanks for the help. The stock is missing, but it used to have one (screwed on). The barrel is removable, but on close examination, I see several differences between the Telstar gun and this one. The stock adapter is one:

Being made by Colt (and made in Japan! How many Colts were made there?) should help someone ID it. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks. I'm having trouble finding a clear pic online. If anyone can help there, thanks in advance.

@weirdguy-- Doesn't quite look the same. Close, but no cigar. Thanks though, as we go down the list, it gets smaller :)

@theclaw-- I thought so. Guy I bought it from said it went to an Atari, but no (duh!). I'd have gotten it anyway, but the Colt name made me have to have it! Quite possibly the only item to have Colt's name brand and 'Made in Japan' side by side.

Since I keep mentioning the Made in Japan bit, figured I should show it:

I went and checked the light gun in the Wonder Wizard set
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MASS%20ALBUM%20SEPT%202100/BillWithers-AintNoSunshineLyrics059.jpg

and the gun doesn’t say Colt on it....I used to collect Pong type systems like crazy years ago, most either went to the DP store or sold on ebay but I have a Sears Pong with a Gun..
I don’t know if the gun is for the pong as there is a Telstar unit in the box with the Pong.

..I have had lots of these type light guns but don’t really remember any of them saying Colt on them but it's been a long time.... but then my dad is a gun collector and I could of swore we picked up a loose light gun at the flea because it said Colt on it..

I come across these old light guns at flea markets and garage sales but I always pass them up....If I find one that says Colt, would you want me to grab it for you,it prob would cost around $5.00 bucks..

I have a similar looking rifle hanging up in my closet(same pin connector)..I have had this thing for wow over 10 years...This one either came in the Lloyd's Sports 802.I had or Telstar system I had...I had two of these but one did not come with the stock and it was
picked in a system with no stock....

I was looking for info on these many years ago trying to figure what old like gun went with what pong system I had as I could never figure out which one came with a attachable stock. That’s why I kept this rifle because I was never able to match it to a pong system I owned-sold..

A friend directed my to old Sears Catalog sales pages saying that he saw these rifles in the old catalogs ..He actually sent me print out copies of the old sears catalogs pages but I had already given up the search gaving got into oother things.

Thanks Darryl!
And yes, if you see another like it, grab it! You know I'll pay up :)

I wonder if instead of being for a home unit, this was designed for use with those carnival games? That's what I was reminded of (county/state fairs) as soon as I saw the picture.
