So I ordered some new RF cables for my Super Pong and 2600 fresh and brand new from Best Electronics and seen they had a small upgrade for $0.50 more called a RF suppressing Torrid. It's a little box with, it looks two magnets inside and the wire is wrapped around it.
Exactly what are these supposed to do, the picture is still RF quality of course but I can see a small bit less static it looks like. Again they were only .50 more so I thought why not, but I would love to know what they actually do.

Sounds like a Magnetic Ferrite Core to me.
They are used to reduce stray signals from causing interference.
I have them on most of my analog cables.
Did it look something like this?

Yep they're similar to those only square in shape. A few of my analog wires have them actually. I always thought they were just weights to help the wire somehow, I learned something thanks!

Is there anywhere you could order ones that could snap on to existing cables?
What kind of signals do people think could benefit from these?
I ask because of some minor issues with rf interference from an older tv/modulator combo as well as a case of electronic computer noise (ie, move the mouse, clicking) through using the analog sound output on my pc motherboard. It seems easy enough to try...as long as the magnet's on the far end of the cable :P

Anything can benefit from them hypothetically speaking. They're mainly used as a passive low pass filter to filter out high frequency signals that are considered interference.
