So this is happening somehow.

Arc System Works track record on licensed fighting games is... I'm not gonna say BAD, because as broken and messed up as it is, Hokuto No Ken is a lot of fun. And a Persona fighting game can't be any worse than any other given anime fighter. Rumblefish and Fate/Unlimited Codes for example.

It comes out in arcades next year and releases on 360 and PS3 that same summer, being summer 2012. Will it release here in the states? Maybe as a downloadable title, but since it's unlikely to be region locked on PS3, I guess it really doesn't matter. Yet another fighting game import.

Oh yeah, there's a Vita version of Persona 4, and Persona 5 will happen sometime. Like they needed to tell us that.

ASW is at least capable of making great fighting games, even if they don't always deliver.
GGXX and BB are both solid series, and Chaos Code looks cool, so you never know.

Oh man I can't wait to shoot myself in the head and summon a giant schlong to pound my enemies with!

I wonder what they will add to the portable version of P4... I don't want a reason to buy PSVita. Also, YAY PERSONA 5

A new character named Mary is all we know so far.

Definitely looking forward to this. Fighting games are my favorite, and Arc Systems' designs have always fascinated me.

Have you ever played Hokuto No Ken? It's the craziest, nuttiest fighting game they ever put out. It's like they didn't care about balance or infinites or ANYTHING. It's still incredibly fun though, to play and to watch.

Meanwhile I'm praying for a new main-series SMT dungeon crawler in HD. Or at least they could translate the SNES games and put 'em on Xbox Live or something.

Okay, derailment over.

I'm not a huge fan of the Persona series, but I gotta say, this game looks pretty damn good.

I actually have never heard of that O_O But if it's fun, I'll definitely check it out.

Here's some Japanese tournament footage. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PMpYOV4Hp8) It's by Arc System Works, so it's got the obligatory Guilty Gear stuff in it.

We have a BUNCH of screenshots to look at now. LINK HERE. (http://www.andriasang.com/e/galleries/2011/09/08/persona_4_ultimate_screens/)

There's a burst meter, so again, Guilty Gear stuff. The sprites look fantastic. We're not sure if you can switch personas: on one of the select screens, it looks like you might be able to. I'm getting a basic JoJo's Bizarre Adventure vibe out of some of the screens: you have the characters and their personas on screen at the same time. That's an exciting prospect, assuming there isn't a Petshop analogue.

And Nirvana, If you were ever to find your way to Grand Rapids Michigan on a Saturday, you might find yourself playing Fist of the Northstar on PS2 with the rest of the GRAPSF idiots. You should come on out one of these days. The girlfriend and I would put you up for the night if you didn't want to drive back at three A.M.

Oh wow, that game does look nice. I love the intro; it's so typical of them XD I'll check it out for sure.

I actually do plan on traveling more to play fighting games; I really want to take it seriously. I'm sick of playing online, ya know? The one thing that's always stopped me is my job; I don't think I've had a weekend off since I was a Freshman in high school. Unfortunately, all fighting game tournaments happen on the weekend :( However, I definitely do plan on traveling sometime in the near future, and Michigan would definitely be a place I'd love to go to for competition. I appreciate the offer, and I honestly see myself taking you up on it sometime :)

As much as I love the Persona series (looking forward to the P4 fighter and P5) i wish we could catch some wind of SMT 5 soon. It seems like the Persona spin off is getting more attention than the actual series
