Road Rash 3 - Bolo is Gay?

In Road Rash 3: Tour de Force (1995), the final installment of the Genesis Road Rash trilogy by EA, there is an enemy biker whose name is Bolo (a name-only reference to the famed Cantonese martial-arts expert Bolo Yeung). When you successfully punch him off his bike, he sounds like a girl - and that fact leads me to believe he is gay. What do you say?

Bolo's alleged gayness leads me to believe Sega should've screened this release before giving EA the go-ahead in North America, because of Sega's content guidelines that prohibited the character of Ash from being depicted in our version of Sega's own Streets of Rage 3 due to his own gay stance.

What seems more likely to me here is 1) the developers simply made a mistake and assigned the wrong sound effect to when Bolo gets de-biked and 2) that it slipped undetected through bug testing. If that was some unspoken reasoning of the people who posted their criticism of the OP's "Bolo Is Gay" theory, my apologies for stating the obvious.

Yes, I'm sure it was an oversight by the RR3 production team. They would know for sure whether or not Bolo was to be depicted as a gay. If only there were interviews with these people.

Do you guys know that in some versions of Streets of Rage 3 that the sub-boss Ash (who normally only shows up in the Japanese Bare Knuckle 3 version) also sounds like a girl when you knock him out?

Actually, I think Nintendo also had an anti-gay rule in their video game content, am I not wrong? I know for the 1st Mortal Kombat they were also anti-blood.

I think the point that him, myself and many others who have already posted were trying to make is: why does it matter? Many things get pass the QA testing department but this one seems completely insignificant. Rather the character is gay or straight doesn't really change the complexion of the game at all.

I'll look into that show too, and you're right about those other bikers and plenty of other characters too. So far I've only seem the movie and select parts of the show for Fist of the North Star, it's a long show so I haven't tracked down the episodes to start watching everything. I know it would take awhile to do.

I believe that Bolo is the gay Rasher here, because if you knock him down he sounds like a girl. Normally, Sega would not allow such content to be seen in games sold here in the USA (these rules were why Ash was not present in our version of Streets of Rage 3, because he was depicted as gay).

The video I found it on doesn't even have Bolo sounding like a girl, at least I didn't hear anything like that and I watched the video twice.

I wasn't thinking make up. I was thinking a mixture of the hair and face. Looks more like a butch female than a dude. Keep in mind at the factory I work in of the few female employees we have most actually appear either as or MORE manly than Bolo here .... so my perspective may be skewed.

Okay, it's not unreasonable to expect that the Road Rash cast of characters, if we take the statistical reality of sexual preferences into consideration, contains one or more people who are gay. By that same token, if homosexuality exists in the mushroom kingdom, there are gay koopas and gay everything Mario, it's simply an unspoken assumption. Seriously, if it had been intended by the developers of Road Rash 3 that the character of Bolo was gay and that this male character having a decidedly girlish scream when knocked off his bike was supposed proof of that, what a silly and camp stereotypical way to go about it. Why bring the sexuality of the character into it at all if not for some ignorant guffaws to be had when you hurt the gay biker? Real funny. Also, like Gameguy, I watched that Youtube video and heard no such scream.
