I was recently thinking about all the different video games that have had Medusa from Greek mythology as an enemy or a boss.

Of course, you've got the Castlevania games where she's a boss in almost every game in the franchise, as well as the ever annoying Medusa head enemies.

Other games I can think of that she's been in are:

Kid Icuras (yeah she looks a lot different than usual in this one, but it's supposed to be her)

Karnov (The instruction booklet calls her "Snake Woman")

Obviously there are a lot of games out there that she could be in that I haven't played. Anyone here know of any other games she's been?

I'm pretty sure Medusa appears in Time Soliders, but I cannot find a pic online of it.

I'm also guessing that she showed up in last year's Clash of the Titans game.

She also made an appearance in King's Quest III.

Bah, +10 internets for you. I came in to say King's Quest III as well. Glad to see someone else appreciates the Sierra PC / DOS classics.

How could I forget that one?

Crystalis!!!

It's been awhile since I've played through Crystalis, but I really don't remember Medusa being in that game. You do fight a witch, but she's not Medusa.

Another game I forgot to mention is Jackal. I could be wrong on this one, but I've always thought the statues that shoot missiles at you in level 2 were supposed to be Medusa. The stage does look like it takes place in the ancient ruins of Athens after all.

Those Jackal statues are totally not medusa busts.

The jellyfish in Ecco: Tides of Time is named Medusa.

My screen name IS Crystalian...
Behind the waterfall outside of Portoa is a cave chock full of Medusa's more than happy to turn you to stone and end your quest for you if you're not careful. Also appear later in the game when you're about to fight Emperor Draygon.

She has a very out of place appearance as a boss in Bookworm Adventures

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e4/Bookworm_Adventures.jpg

According to http://www.giantbomb.com/medusa/94-1100/ she has appeared in 48 games, though I remember her being in a boatload of Amiga RPGs as well.

Agh! The Adventures of Lolo, of course!

And come to think of it, that video of the old C64 version of Dante's Inferno had a medusa right outside the city gates as well. (Similar to Lolo, she would avoid attacking if you didn't move at the right moments.)

Oh, and Daikatana, too.

http://images.wikia.com/castlevania/images/b/b9/Sexy_Parodius_Medusa.pngI love the detail in all the different snake expressions.

Man, that's another obvious one I forgot all about. What's really sad is that I was just playing Lolo about a week ago, and I still couldn't remember that one. You even have to fight a large Medusa statue in Lolo III as a boss.
