I recently moved (again) and there are a few thrift stores down the street. I went to a few today and managed to find a lot of gaming things but I'm having problems figuring things out about a few of these:

I'll get some pictures up tonight once I have some free time.

1. Sealed (in one of those Nintendo 64 plastic shell casings) NBA Jam 99. It's going to be sold since I don't collect N64 and I'm having a hard time determining a price. I would assume that it being in the plastic case adds value but again, I don't know. I knew it was worth the listed $2. Box is crushed somewhat on the top left side.

2. Soul Calibur for Dreamcast ... in a DVD case. It is a bootleg (there was a Tekken 3 for Dreamcast thing that I didn't pick up for some reason, I'm going back Saturday) but the case art looks official. I collect Dreamcast and I thought it was pretty neat but does it have any value? Is the Tekken 3 one worth anything as well? It was $3.

3. Mortal Kombat 3 boxed for the SNES. The box isn't in the best condition but the instruction manual and game cardboard holder came with it. It's also going to be sold so I'm trying to figure out value. Again, $2 so I knew it was a worthwhile purchase.

I picked up some other things but those are either going in my collection or I already know their value. Any help would be appreciated.

1. So it's a loose sports N64 game, in a Nintendo 64 branded shell? Thats worth a few bucks. If it's something else a pic might help.

2. Bootlegs aren't worth anything.

The Tekken 3 thing is a Bleemcast disc. It'll let you play a PS copy of Tekken 3 on the DC. It's worth a few bucks. I can buy new copies on eBay for 9 bucks.

3. any boxed game is worth a few bucks. Loose copies are worth 5-10, so even a beat box adds a few bucks.

Thanks for the answers.

I probably wasn't clear on 1. It isn't a loose game, it's boxed and sealed. Actually, here's a picture. I remember seeing these many many years ago when stores were selling their remaining N64 stock.

Will go and pick up the Bleemcast thing on Monday. I think it was $3 and it'll go with the other DC things in my collection. The only thing that raised my interest about the SC bootleg is that the DVD cover looks legit. Was there a version of the game shipped in a DVD cover or is this a good homemade one? Here's a pic:

No Dreamcast stuff came in a DVD case that wasn't a post dead system release (homebrew stuff). Nothing in America was ever released that way. Just some kind of bootleg.

That N64 games was shoved in a clamshell by a 3rd party and sold in non standard stores. I remember seeing games like those and PS games sold in my college bookstore at the start of the decade. It won't make it worth any more than a sealed copy of that game is worth. And from the pics it looks like the shrink is a bit beat.

The Soul Calibur thing... are you sure the game disc is a bootleg? There's two things that case might be besides a bootleg case for a bootleg game (actually, I think either of these possibilities would still technically fall under the "bootleg" heading, but still):

1) A pre-release display box for game stores (very unlikely -- I'm not sure what an "official" display box looks like, but it's possible some stores would just make up their own using press release stuff as well)
2) A mock-up box for a "retro" game store's display. Some places will make a box for games that get sold/traded without the box and/or for display on the shelves so they can keep the game behind the counter but still have something to display. Also unlikely but more possible than #1.

Yes, it's a bootleg. The disc label is low quality inkjet and I just noticed a CD-R marking. Plus the disc name is "dCiSo-SCUS". Oh well, the N64 I got from the same place already paid for everything I bought that day so no loss.
