Yeah as Port linked, IonEIFalcon won that auction. He had been looking for one for about 8 months at the time that turned up for $199 starting bid. Pedro! sold one before that at some god awful BIN earlier in the year.

I need to upgrade mine and might be interested if you come up with an asking price. Got a piece of tape on the top of my "pillbox" top and that same exact tear you have pictured. Yours is slightly better than mine though.

Thats the first time I've seen any N64 vhs tapes go for any kind of decent money, although this is much more than just a vhs tape. Definitely a ncie collectors item to have.

Yeah completely different from the normal N64 promo tapes. I have a whole box full of those and I'd be happy if someone gave me $5 a piece for them. This is in a league of it's own though, and Conker is the N64 Earthbound.

Interesting... I was curious about the value on this one. One note - that eBay listing looks about right (and I think mine has the same tear everyone else has mentioned... must have been done sliding one of those items in the box), but I don't think there was an instruction manual included with "Mad Squirrel Disease" kit. He's already throwing in the strategy guide, so I imagine he found and threw in a manual as well.

FYI, the game is actually different than the normal NTSC Conker game. Nothing too drastic, but I remember some minor differences like the color of the text boxes being different. Unfortunately, there are no markings on the cartridge that I can find that differentiate it with the regular version. At least not anything so simple as a "Not for Resale" sign or whatnot.

Yeah, the pills probably were the culprit.

If you could that would be great! I don't have a "normal" copy to compare it with but I can look on YouTube for some regular vids. I do want to say that it had something to do with the text boxes that was immediately evident once Death began talking. I'll double check it soon-ish.

Just so you know. If the game is different in any way that will be huge. Right now it is a niche item for Conkers collectors but if the ROM differs then it is a cartridge that all seeking a full set will need.

I could see sets with the different cart hitting 4 figures if that is the case.
