Disgaea 4: wheres the love?

So I've been playing this game nonstop between work and sleep, and have already amassed over 110 hours of gameplay, i'm kinda surprised there is no thread for it here?

Against my better judgement, I picked it up on release day. I've played it a whole 2 hours so far (and enjoyed it). I intend to dig in and put some serious hours in...but not at least until winter. Disgaea is the time sucker to end all time suckers (which is part of the allure IMO). With Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3, Zelda, and Skyrim coming out within 2-3 months of each other I don't have enough time. Oh, and we have our 2nd baby coming in two weeks. Yeah...probably won't be playing this one for a while.

If I had a PS3 I'd be playing the heck outta Disgaea 4 right now. I waited for a long time to play the originally Disgaea, and when it was ported to the Nintendo DS I bought it right away. Logged quite a few hundred hours in Disgaea DS - I'd wager at least 200. I don't believe that Disgaea 4 would be any different.

And while I haven't played them yet, I feel like from the little I know about them that Disgaea 2 and 3 were a step in the wrong direction. With Disgaea 4, from what I've garnered about it, it is a huge return to form. And more so than that, I think it adds a lot of new things that the series needed to keep it fresh. About the only thing I think would have been better than adding new things is also removing some old things. Too much stuff and things start to feel overly complicated and Disgaea is a series that keeps a lot of casual players at bay already. Just keep things fresh by removing some old things each time while adding some new stuff and bringing back some things from past games and you've got all the right stuff. :)
