Hey, I remember playing a FPS that I downloaded off of the AOL kids sections back in the day.
You could walk around a city and find a pistol (you might of started with one actually) You could go inside a bank and if you took your gun out everyone would put there hands up and the cops would shoot you. This would happen for the rest of the game. The same thing would happen if you shot anyone.
There was a bathroom (maybe it was inside the bank?) with a mirror inside of it and you could see yourself.. and I believe your character was wearing sunglasses.
You could explore into the back allies of the city but im pretty sure there were either monsters who could shoot stuff at you or people with guns that would kill you.
It was a sprite based game and did not have polygonal graphics.
Any help would be great!
Found it thanks for the help!
EDIT: Im now looking for a new game
I remember very little details about this game.
The game is Christmas/Winter themed I believe.
I think you start in the woods and follow footprints to a log cabin that you would go inside.
It was sort of a creepy game and it was a first person adventure that was a point and click. This remind anyone of anything?
Originally I thought that the game started in an alleyway with a trashcan you could go thru, but that was a different game I was apparently getting it mixed up with.
It ran on my windows computer (it was either win95 or 98) i don't think it was a DOS game..but it may of been. I got it in the AOL kids downloads section and it was only a trial.

In response to OP's original query, in which he was seeking a circa 1994 FPS where you could draw a gun in a bank and get a reaction
William Shatner's TekWar perhaps?

I don't remember too much about the show, but it looks like this is sort of a crummy DOOM clone.

Oh man, TekWar, I've been keeping an eye out for one for four years. I found a copy once but it was super scratched; and the second one was water damaged and moldy.
It's William Shatner, how can you not like a game with him? :p

Believe it or not, the only experience I have with either the game or the TV show is hearing about it in magazines.
I've read the original TekWar novel though, and something about your description just "clicked."

Ugh, and now every post after your first is confusing as heck.
FOUND IT, THANKS!
EDIT: Im now looking for a new game
I remember very little details about this game.
All I can really remember is that you started out in a dark alleyway and that it was a first person adventure game. Im pretty sure there was a trashcan you could go thru.. I THINK everything was hand drawn art but I'm not even sure about that.
It ran on my windows computer (it was either win95 or 98) i don't think it was a DOS game..
While it didn't exactly "Start out" in a dark alleyway, the descriptions sound like it could be either of the Deja Vu games (yes, there were Windows ports)
The only other thing I can think of is The Dark Convergence II, which started out in an alley and you had to live as a bum for a bit... but that wasn't first-person, and it was a DOS game.

Nope.. I could even be wrong about the dark alleyway. Now that I've thought about it for the last few days I think you went inside a house.. haha

Okay, so what about Last Half of Darkness III (http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/25026/Last+Half+of+Darkness+III.html)? It starts in an alley.

Nope.. I'm really just assuming it was an alleyway because of the trashcan outside :/ The memory of this game is so faint. I'm sorry about the lack of details.

I'm guessing it's Dare to Dream. If so, I too asked about this game a long time back (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116189).

I STILL really want to play the third one and see how it ends.

Not dare to dream. The art was much better.
Oh man, i think im getting games confused now. I don't understand how to game can fit my description so perfectly.. but I'm sure that game isn't it.

Dare to Dream, of course! Dang, I didn't twig onto that at all.
I STILL really want to play the third one and see how it ends. You can buy it for an utterly ridiculous price from http://www.epicclassics.com/order.html if you're so inclined. On very rare occasions I see the boxed retail release at thrift stores.
Or you can just download it from somewhere and be done with it. :D The third episode is suitably creepy, inasmuch as games of that era are capable of being "creepy" – something like the C64 version of Dante's Inferno (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnsWceYWNpQ). The MIDI music still kicks, though. I approve, generally.
(Naturally, being a Win 3.1 game written in VB 1.0, there is no chance of it running on a 64-bit system without some form of virtualization.)

Please don't do that. It ruins the forum for future people, looking to see the game you mentioned and the guesses people came up with.

What happened to the trash can in the alley?

I didn't want to spam up the forum so I tried to keep it contained, but if it's bothering people I'll stop. Also I was completely off with the trashcan thing ans getting the game mixed up with dare to dream.

Oh man, I found it. It was called Santas Secret Valley. Not as creepy as I remember it haha but it's the game. It's not even in the mobygames database as far as I can see (Which I spent days checking)
