This is a special, Limited Edition Moutain Dew Xbox. It was available only through a special promotion and was never on sale. Only 2000 consoles were ever made.
I have one, complete in box, with everything it originally came with. It has been used, but is in perfect condition. I believe I also have the congratulations letter that came with it.
I am looking to sell this ASAP, but I need to know what it is worth.

I think last time this system came up, $200-$300 was decided upon. Wait for confirmation.

Myself, I'd value it @ $200ish, but that's just me.

I thought complete was in the $125-$150 range. I know I've been barely outsniped in the low $100s and still don't have one. Maybe one of these days.

Where does the 2000 number come from?
This one should hold its value and continue to go up but I'm not sure how limited this one really is. A gamestore near me had 10-15 of these NIB just a couple of years ago. I'll agree with the $200-300 range for a NEW unit for now. Used would be less.
Perhaps there was an initial 2000 run for one purpose and others were released in another way or could have been purchased direct? 2000 units seems too low based on the number of times I have seen them for sale etc.

Mountain Dew had a points promotion and this was the most desired item to trade in points for. They had the green system bundled with a game (three different games I believe, one with each bundle) and they were only available during a certain time frame. They sold out super quick, but I was able to get mine pretty easily. The points were a huge pain in the ass, because you could only enter a certain # each day. Mountain Dew stated there were only ~2000 of these, so I believe that # is pretty accurate.
This is not the same green system as the Halo Xbox.

Only 2000 made or only 2000 available for that particular promotion. Now the Hulk Xbox is super rare as you almost never see those but I've seen a few Mountain Dew Xboxes in the wild and had a few used ones traded into the store as well. I find 2000 hard to believe.

I agree that 2000 seems very low given how many I have seen at swap meets, at thrifts, on Ebay and various website forums and even used game shops in the past few years. I suppose it could be possible that everyone who owned one ended up dumping it once they got their 360s.

My brother-in-law traded points for an XBOX through Mountain Dew, but his is a plain XBOX. So there definately was a limited number, and they used regulars to fill the rest of the orders.

I'm not saying it wasn't limited only that I feel that there were more than 2000 of them. Subjective of course but it is based on the numbers of units I have seen vs the numbers I have seen of other limited edition systems.
Still all too often people post production numbers with no hard evidence. If there were 2000 units produced then lets see something in print about it. It is possible but I find it hard to believe and if so 25% of them ended up in Cleveland !

Wow 2,000 of them? I seriously doubt that as I have two and have seen so many myself. Anyhow I know a guy trying to sell one for $125 and hasn't been sold yet so I would say around the $150 range for a boxed one is a good price IMO, wouldn't even click the link over that.

Not that it is always accurate but wikipedia says there were 5,000 released.

That would make more sense. Thanks, Mike.

Hmmm, yeah 5,000 might see more appropriate. The only comparison I can draw is to the Nintendo 64 Millennium controller which was a stated print run of 1,000. And I see those pop up maybe 3-5 times a year on eBay, while the Mountain Dew Xbox is at least once a month. So comparatively, 5,000 seems right to me also.

Well, I have one, and I probably only have a couple things that there are less than 2000 (or even 5000) of. So I'd suspect even more than that.
What would a boxed (no packaging) one that's been modded be worth. Or, rather, does the modding significantly lower the price? The guy I bought it from told me what chip was used, but I can't remember anymore.

Loose, unmodded ones have been selling for $50 to $70. I can't imagine it would drop much below that with the chip. In fact, it may actually increase it a bit as I've seen regular, unmodded xboxes for not much less than $50.

Also, was cleaning out my watch list and realized I still had this one on it. $150
