NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. This is a FREE event bringing gamers together for competition, trading, and chatter.
Previously at NAVA...
- Attendees celebrated the 20-year (!) anniversary of Digital Press. Free issues of DP#1 were handed out, new issue #71 was unveiled.
- Chris A. won the "King of the Monsters" Neo Geo tournament.
- Game systems that were popular with us in 1991 were set up around the store.
- We got to see the first "squarepainter/Pixxel Papa" collaboration.
- Games and systems traded hands between attendees who brought their own trade boxes.

This month: It's almost Halloween so we'll do a traditional NAVA costume thing. Come dressed up to the event and you can take 10% off of any used merchandise in the store! We'll also choose the best costume of the day at 8pm for an additional $50. Remember: Only REAL costumes qualify. Showing up in a baseball cap claiming to be "a baseball player", or with 5 o'clock shadow claiming to be "a bum", or doing BOTH claiming to be Joe Santulli isn't going to be good enough.
Arcade challenge! Let's get all spooky up in this. It's Sega's 1982 game "Monster Bash". Journey through Dracula's House, Frankenstein's Castle, and Chameleon Man's Graveyard, and be the one who does it with the highest score on our arcade cabinet by 8pm to snag yourself a nifty $20 gift certificate as well as have your name added to the "House Champion" tournament plaque on the Wall of Fame just above the arcade section of the store. Arcade challenge games are set to FREE PLAY all day. Get your practicing in now!
Get your trade boxes in order and remember to wear your NAVA t-shirt to get the maximum discount on purchases... it's NAVA time!
RSVP (optional): http://www.facebook.com/digitpress#!/digitpress?sk=events
When: Saturday, October 29th, 3pm to midnight.
Where: Digital Press Videogames: http://tinyurl.com/yscakm
What happens: Gaming, trading, tournaments, big prizes! Extra game stations are set up around the store. Attendance is FREE. Half price for kids!
What can I bring?: Snacks, soda and beer are always appreciated. Cakes have been very popular as well.
