Those of you who know me know that EWJ is a favorite of mine. Here are some design documents. Included in these documents are some ideas for levels that I do not believe were ever used.

These are awesome, thanks for sharing! The invisible rope tug-of-war with a mime over the open can of Spam is an utterly ridiculous scene that I truly wish had made its way into EWJ 1 or 2.

hahahahahaha .... "Mime Field" :)

These are great, thanks for sharing! EWJ deserved so many more great games than just 2.

I am not sure if it would have been the most exciting level ever. Perhaps this level was "canned" because it was a bit slow paced for an EWJ game. Still it is pretty funny to think about what could have been. There are some detailed designs for the spam in here as well. They had a full label designed. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Shiny developed The Lion King too, didn't they? Interesting how they reference that game in one of the documents.

Adam, is it an actual design document with rules and goals or is it more of a "pitch document" with ideas? Either way I'm stoked to see these! Doug produced a lot of really amazing Jim art at that time that hasn't really been seen since, I'm always happy to see more.

Those are pretty awesome. Would've been cool to actually play those levels, especially the Mime Field. lol

There aren't any flowcharts etc. The material came in a package deal and is more of a collection than a single document. The most interesting EWJ material is the 5 pages up top but there are more images of Jim here as well.

Some mockup Sega covers were also in another thread. http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157179

Neat stuff, EWJ is one of my favorites too as you already know. The Mime Field is definitely interesting...

This is a good / bad thread. Good to see this stuff, but bad as you're left wondering what could have been...

This is a pretty cool find. The original EWJ artwork is some nice stuff and the ideas pitched in these documents seems to fit right in compared to content that made it in. BuyAtari, did you consider cross-posting this over at Doug Tennapels forum Newt Land? I'm sure people over there would be quite interested in these.

A VERY BIG thank you for that EWJ rare stuff (I believe it was made for the sequel of the game). But PLEASE can you uppload these sheets without such disgusting watermark? Or simpy place it the way it doesn't ruin the images. Whole Russian EWJ community vk.com/earthwormjim_club (3600 members) will be very pleased by that.
P.S. Sorry for my English. I'm just a Russian EWJ fan.

This.

I always love seeing what ideas developers wish they could have incorporated in a game. They are usually very creative.
