Before I start, I have nothing to do with retrogamecave.com - just a happy customer :)
Anyone that's familiar with NEC consoles knows that they used weird specs for their AC adapters. It's tough to find a replacement. Their weird power requirements even make it tough to find a suitable radioshack version.
It's been tough, until recently.
I just received an order I made from retrogamecave.com - I ordered an AC adapter for my PC Engine GT. The one I bought didn't come with one and I've been using 6 AA batteries ever since (which makes for an expensive hobby!)
The AC adapter was shipped in a padded bubble envelope. Inside was this bag:

I appreciated that the prongs were protected with this piece of styrofoam.

With strofoam removed:

As you can see, the specs match the GT:

My only complaint - it doesn't plug-in flush with the system. There is a very small gap. Oh well.

The AC adapter has a small light so you know it's plugged in properly.

Eureka! it works!

This little beaut cost be $8.99 plus shipping. Shipping to Canada was fast and cheap.
They've got AC adapters for a bunch of other NEC consoles, as you can see here (http://www.retrogamecave.com/turbo-pc-engine-duo-power-supply.html).
Again, I've got nothing to do with this website, I just love NEC and hate using AA batteries :)
