I discovered this back in the day, but never could figure out how to reproduce it every time. This video shows what happens when the cheat is enabled. I have found nothing on the internet about this cheat. Anyone else come across this mode in the underrated Konami classic?

This must be what it felt like to be the East Germans in the 1980s.

Neat video. Always loved that game back in the day.

I remember renting this game once and going "Why the hell is the game so damn easy this time?"

Track & Field II is one of my favorite games and one of the few NES games that could pass as 16-bit. It had better graphics and sound than some early Genesis games. I kept waiting for a SNES Konami Track & Field game, but it never happened. :(

Anyway, I never knew about an Easy Mode, but was still able to beat the game back in the late 1980s.
