Hey everybody,

I'm relatively new here and relatively new to buying classic games as well, especially online. I'm very interested in expanding to buying games on eBay but am reasonably sheepish about just diving in. On top of that I know that simply having a very positive feedback rating can still be misleading. I was wondering if the forum members here know of any go-to eBay vendors that they've had great experiences with in the past... I imagine you all could make quite a list! Any help would be great.

Edit: Agh... is this the right forum for this? It may be in the wrong place.

You do your name proud. ;)

We have an eBay forum, but it's locked out to new posters until a week or so after they register. You'll be able to see it in a few days.

Oh that's what's going on!

I figured there must be something missing... seemed odd that this many people were talking about classic games without a mention on eBay...

Thanks! and sorry for the useless post.

Does it just show up a week after or is it somewhere that's locked that I haven't seen yet?

Look for sellers with more than 100 feedback and positive percentage above 95. And if they are under 100%, read their neg and neutral feedback and see what went wrong and if you can stomach it. Otherwise, look at the eBay sellers in the eBay forum. Most of us are long time DPers and experienced sellers. Some of us have huge stores with a wide variety of stock on eBay.

In addition to what ianoid said, I would add look for sellers of video games, repeatedly, to the point of specialization. Lots of people grab a N64, for example, in a yard sale, plug it in, fire it up, and sell it as tested. Does the controller work well? They dunno. Controller ports been tested? Nope. Contacts cleaned? Bwahaha! Point is, some sellers have great feedback, but sell jewelry and dishes and the occasional video game. The ones you want are the ones that have a pile of feedback in video games.

Thanks! Where is this rumored eBay forum? I must be blind... I still can't find it.

Right. It seems you can often tell from the descriptions whether the sellers actually know what they're talking about.
