Boxed Vectrex console with foam inserts, overlay for Mine Storm, owners manual - box is in okay shape, looks like it was used as the shipping carton at one time as one of the top panels has an address circled out in sharpie. System works great, control panel is in great shape and stick feels tight and centers correctly.
Games...
Armor Attack (complete, small hole in overlay)
Berzerk (complete)
Blitz! (complete)
Cosmic Chasm (complete)
Rip Off (cartridge only)
Scramble (complete)
Starhawk (cartridge and overlay)
Game boxes have general wear, only real "damage" is the tearing on the front of Blitz! and Armor Attack seems to have some yellowing from old tape residue. Upper left corner of the Starhawk overlay has a small piece missing but it's outside the gameplay area. The loose Rip Off cartridge has label wear.
I love the damn thing but it spends way too much time sitting in the closet.
Here are some pictures from when I got it but the condition is exactly the same today.

Cosmic Chasm not pictured but it's complete and in good order.
Value seems to be all over the map on this stuff so I was curious what the DP patrons have to say.
Thanks!

Man, I would so want that, especially with BERZERK sitting there in all it's complete glory. I say, depending on the day, you could easily get between $100.00 and $200.00 for sure. I know that's wide open, but again, I said depending on the day. Get someone who really wants it like Hardcore, easily up to possibly $250.00. Again, that's a hardcore collector though. Most of them have a Vectrex already though. Again though, just a guess. I can say it's the only console I never owned that I want too. Very pretty, dude.

Man, you had to post this right? :) I have all those games, but the thought of complete versions is so tempting. I'll offer this two zenny: Scramble is the most common Vectrex game. My vote is keep everything and play it more often. Wait, this isn't a voting post. I'm all turned around.

Around $150? I got a similar bundle with more games for $100, just about everything was complete including the system like yours. The system I had also was mailed in the original box at some point as an address was written on the top. Still the system died on me within an hour of playtime so I'm not planning on getting another one.

You lucked out big time.

I'd say, I see loose working systems scrape $150 on their own from time to time. Again though, the value fluctuates an awful lot with this stuff.

This is a hard one to pin down, for sure. I would think higher than above estimates. More like $200 is what I'd think, 225?. The system boxes just don't come along very often, although that (like most) is a bit rough.

I'd probably say $150-200 with the items in that condition.

I'd value to system with the box at $200-250, and $25-30 a complete game, 10ish on the other. Those damn consoles fetch so much anymore.

Well it's looking like $200 - $225 is a good down the middle price from what I've been hearing here. Forgot how heavy this was, just pulled it out and it's buzzing in the background - "Don't sell me David! Get rid of your Galaxian cocktail instead, you're always saying how you don't have the space for it and it's always arguing with the Klax cabaret when you're not home." So I think that is what I'm going to do (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/vgm/2670822454.html).
Really though, the clencher is that there's a good chance of a homebrew version of Tailgunner being worked on for the Vectrex next year. I can't be without that if it does happen.
Thanks everyone!

Oh man, that's sad. I remember when you got that cabinet and how excited you were to order/install new knobs, etc. Times change, though, I understand. My Galaga cocktail is usually only on for parties these days. After a party recently I set my personal best score, though, and I'm far from being ready to part with it.

I sold it all for $100 to another collector, which is what I paid for it. With a broken system it was just taking up space, and of course I never heard back from the guy on craigslist after telling him it died on me. The person who got it from me had it repaired, but had to pay quite a bit to a TV repair shop to do it. This was a few years ago.
I guess I was a bit off with Vectrex prices, whatever you decide to do I hope it works out for you InsaneDavid. :)

LOL I've come to the realization that I'll never crack 50K. After a year or so of plateauing just under that I'm just about finished. Klax on the other hand has a tendency to kick my ass at different points at different times. As soon as I think I've got it in the bag it'll completely turn things around on me. Same goes for when I'm having an amazing run, I won't even notice the score amount until the end of the game. I have yet to crack 1,000,000 on a single credit but I'm always chopping up toward it. That four hour hallucination inducing run to the end of the game (multiple credits) earlier in the year cemented it as one of my all time favorite arcade games. Wave 100 is absolutely brutal in terms of the required mental stamina to complete it.
I don't feel up to putting in the time and effort it takes to build the next skill set to climb into higher scores on Galaxian. It was a lot of fun, got me back into arcade games proper, but it's time to go. I'd say it's because the cocktail takes up too much space but a Galaxian upright doesn't have much charm to me. When I think of it that way I realize it's really not a game I need to hold onto. Truth of the matter is my favorite game in the "series" is Galaga '88 which I would be fine with running in a generic JAMMA cabinet or a candy cab one day. After spending some time with an Egret 29 at the most recent California Extreme, I was really won over by that style of machine. Sometime down the road I think that's where my arcade gaming may lie.

it really depends on the purchaser
I recently sold my spare loose Vectrex system with no games for $150. Why? the Vectrex is super rare around here (basically non-existent) and the guy was too scared to order it from the net because he thought it'd get broken in shipping.
If you can find someone like that - this could fetch big bucks :)

After the back and forth I decided to just bite the bullet and list it on craigslist (http://sfbay.en.craigslist.org/sby/vgm/2677041135.html).

It would be nice, I've noticed demand for stuff around here slowing WAY down finally.
