Otomedius Excellent! OUT NOW Gradius/Parodius mashup

It seems the seller's market has caught up. Amazon no longer has special edition copies, and others are selling it as low as 80 dollars.

Ironically it is the same day that I returned my copy to gamestop so that I could afford the MGS HD Collection Limited Edition that popped up on Amazon at MSRP. No regrets. I'd rather have the MGS LE that comes with a beautiful art book instead of an anime pillow case. I still want Otomedius, hopefully the prices come back down in the future.

Edit: I don't want to get the impression that I'm a hater. I want Otomedius, but my credit card is currently waiting charges for MGS HD Collection LE, the Zavvi world exclusive MGS Ultimate HD Collection, and RISK: MGS LE. I have to make the choice of what I really want to pay interest on.

I don't know what the print run was like, but I suspect a large number of copies were damaged. I know I had two copies destroyed by Amazon, both of which went back. I also got one from Gamestop.com that was crushed. Finally I found one in perfect shape at a local GS store. So, for my one perfect copy, there are three others totally destroyed out there. I can only imagine there are many others out there in similarly damaged condition given all the reports I am reading on various forums of people having to return them.

strangely enough my copy which i didnt preorder was perfect, opened and sold as new (which i talked down a discount on) but the new copies that were preordered had damage to them. i know because the clerk almost sold one to me and i saw them in the preorder drawer.

Got my copy from best buy last night (mail order), and the box is pristine.

I received the special edition (for free) and it's pristine. I'm happy with my purchase, heh.

isnt that the review where the reviewer is fresh out of prison, makes a big issue about the graphics, perverted art, and doesnt really talk about the game but instead goes off on wild tangents?

"I’m as big a fan of big-boobed girls in tight ships as the next guy -- OK, maybe not as much as my ex-cellmate 'Jackin' Jojo -- but Otomedius looks like ass and probably would taste like one if you could bite into it. Along with the excellent Gradius series, Konami had a goofy, surreal spin-off series in the ‘90s called Parodius. Otomedius doesn’t have the imagination or spectacle of Parodius, nor does it have the atmosphere and smart design of Gradius. I admit that I’m new to using a Xbox 360 controller, but damn if these ladies aren’t as slippery and wet as a walrus’ throat. One tap on the left-thumbstick sends your lovely gal a couple positions foward, making for some very choppy action. I felt my chub going flat in my skin-tight cougar pants, as I tried to acquire the pin-point accuracy the game’s bosses demand. This problem only gets worse as you upgrade your speed, making it possible to fly across the map in a milisecond like some sort of disco-club methhead who just fisted a bag of angeldust into his rectum."
