Just found out my Castlevania III won't play on my Famicom so time to track down a Japanese one. Complete would be nice but cart only will do the job. Any idea what I can expect to pay?

I sold my complete copy on ebay for $50 or $60 about five months ago. Not sure what loose copies sell for though.

Ah, that's good to hear. I assume it is a desirable import because of the superior music over the American one so I was worried it was going to be a really pricey one.

The first one on Famicom is actually the expensive one. Go figure.

Problems with Castlevania III are not due to itself. If you've heard otherwise it was flat out wrong.

The actual reason is that both Famiclones and 72-to-60 pin adapters are incorrectly built.

I just sold a loose Akumajou Densetsu for $20. You'd have a lot of trouble finding it for cheaper unless you live in Japan, and even then it'd still be hard I think.

That's because the cartridge version was a late re-release, along with Stinger and Bio Miracle Upa.
The disk version is much more common.

As to Akumajou Densetsu, I bought a loose copy off ebay for about $20 a couple years ago, but the price seems to have gone up since.
Not sure about action, but I think of sellers are now asking in the $30-40 range.

Good thing I put together a loose Famicom cart price guide!
