View Full Version : Were Hori fighting sticks from before the PS2 any good?

I ask this because lately I thought of getting a second arcade stick for PS1/PS2 fighters, and I've seen a Hori stick that was cheap. Here's a link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Playstation-Hori-Fighting-Stick-/130594703052?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item1e680d06cc).

I've also seen one that was similar to that, but was apparently multiconsole for all the major 16-Bit platforms (Super Famicom, Mega Drive and PC-Engine).

I know nowadays Hori is one of the top-rated brands, but these controllers were from the days before people cared about a home stick feeling just like the arcade. And if they don't, can they be hacked and modded? That is what I ask.

Thanks in advance.

I recall the Saturn Hori Stick to be good.

I have one Hori Fighting Stick SS and it seems alright to me. I certainly prefer it's button placement over the JP Virtua Stick, and I think it's stick is pretty nice. Buttons are kinda thick to press down, though.

Compared to a more recent Hori I got (the X360 Hori sticks), the sticks feel kinda tighter IMO.
