I have never been much into PC gaming with the exception of Diablo II which I absolutely loved. I am psyched that Blizzard is finally going to be releasing Diablo 3 in 2012, but all I have is a shitty laptop. I can't justify dropping 2 grand on a new PC just to play this game, but it seems that it is PC only which sucks. Any recommendation on the cheapest laptop I can get that will still run the game at a reasonable speed? I don't know much about PC's in terms of what is a good brand. I just use mine for web surfing.

Oh I just wish they would release it on console. Any idea why they won't?

A good PC doesn't cost $2,000. A good PC doesn't even cost $800. I don't know if you're being sarcastic here but this is one of those things that irks me to no end.

Being Blizzard, the requirements shouldn't be too high. Starcraft 2 can play on pretty much anything released in the past 3 years. Find something like 256-512mb GFX card, at least 2gb of RAM (4gb is pretty much the standard nowadays), and a 3.0+ GHZ processor. You can find that in a laptop for $500 at most.

No, I am not being sarcastic. As stated, I don't know much about PC's. I just see "gaming PC's" advertised from places like Alienware and so forth and they seem to be pretty expensive.

If you build it yourself, the only way you'll reach $2k is with a comically overpowered system.

Take a look here. at the end:

Guaranteed the "Puppy" system will run Diablo III with absolutely no problems.

High-performance systems are as cheap as they never have been before, partially thanks to stagnating progress - thanks consoles. Calculate 500Eur+ for a good desktop machine though, maybe a little more in USD, and forget about laptops unless you desperately need something for on the go. Get a good monitor and put a blu ray drive in your PC and you will be quite happy i'm sure. A PC can do so much, i don't get why people buy consoles like the PS3 or the 360. I can watch tv, listen to radio, watch blu-rays in full HD, and i actually could connect a console, but fudge them! It cost just a fraction of what a living room setup would have cost.

Ah yes they try porting it to console btw, but i wouldn't be on it to be honest.
