Just a little community heads-up... I haven't seen anyone else mentioning this, so I just thought I'd make people aware of the fact that there is no purchase-able "Online Pass" with this game for Xbox 360 or PS3. In other words, a used copy of BF3 that has had the online code redeemed currently has NO way of playing online. I personally bought the game new, so it didn't affect me, but I noticed this when browsing the marketplace. There's no method to purchase one through the game either, only to "redeem code." So watch out for those used copies, because single player is pretty lame... I wouldn't recommend it as a standalone product.
BTW, the online is fantastic. I'm a week late to the party, but I had a blast this weekend with it. Definitely my favorite multiplayer game of the year thus far.

Maybe this is their way of combating 2nd hand sales?

Interesting... I swear it wasn't on PSN, but you're right. I guess I missed it. So that begs the question... where is the Xbox 360 option? Did it just not make it through cert in time? Or is it an oversight? Good to know one exists at least... I was worried maybe EA was stealthily upping the ante in their methods of combating used game sales. Getting rid of the ability to buy an online pass essentially turns your disc into a coaster after that code is redeemed. No way to lend it, sell it, etc.

i cant see that happening, thats a new revenue stream for them thats basically pure profit since there are no manufacturing costs to them, i could see them raising the online pass to ridiculously unreasonable prices in the future tho which basically achieves the same thing

Doesn't Gamestop now give you online pass keys when you purchase a used game?

I'm still wondering if Gamestop started lowering the prices of used games that require an online pass. I doubt it but I don't buy used games from Gamestop so I'm really not sure.
