I want to start a list of all xbox 360 games that have a great single player mode. This is so when xbox live goes the game I have it still has replay value and is worth something not just junk. This also includes xbox arcade games. No indie games because those rely on xbox live to play so at some point you won't be able to play them. What I have so far are all the guitar hero, rock band, and saints row series. If you disagree with what I have so far explain why.

It would be easier to post a list of games that are focused on their multiplayer. There are more singleplayer heavy games on 360 than not.

I have a handful of good games on the 360 that are single player focused. I would say the Batman games are a good couple of games. Oblivion is great if you are into those types of games, as well as Fallout 3. Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are fun shooter/horror games. The Mass effect games are another good set of RPG style games. That is about all I have for ya.

alan wake, deadly premonition, halo odst, mass effect 1, gears of war series

if you only play those games and nothing else, you got your moneys worth out of the system 10fold

Yes sir, especially Alan Wake. That game is definitely worth owning a 360 for. And I'll add Shadow Complex to the list.

Test Drive Unlimited. Best racing game ever. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is still a good game, but a disappointment in comparison to how good the original is.

All great suggestions so far. I'd add Dante's Inferno, Portal, Portal 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection.

Really? I played parts of the game but as a horror game enthusiast I found the game lacking. Didn't feel it was worth my time.

Anywhoo, my worthwile games for the 360 are:
Bayonetta
Lost Odyssey
Dead Rising
Dead Rising 2
The Darkness
Devil May Cry 4
Batman: Arkham Asylum (City too I guess, haven't played it yet)
Assassin's Creed 2
Bioshock (Didn't care for the sequel)
Catherine
Condemned (The second one is not worth it)
Dead Space
Fallout: New Vegas (Great game!!)
Fallout 3
Just Cause 2
Mass Effect
Mirror's Edge
The Orange Box
Resident Evil 5
Tales of Vesperia
Vanquish

In no particular order. I think Deadly Premonition and Shadows of the Damned should be listed too but I haven't gotten a chance to play them yet. Some games like Left 4 Dead and Borderlands are great too but very boring to play alone, so I didn't list them.

Just here to pimp Lost Odyssey. A horrendously under-played game, particularly given that it was a better FF game than any FF game since at least 8, if not 7.

Lost Odyssey was a horrendous game. The characters did not act anything close to human. The plot was way too simple. The items are equipment system was as basic as most any RPG. The only thing it had going for it was that it had the ring thing. Like a timed attack in Mario RPG only you have to have a ring equipped. To compare a game that was, freakishly underplayed, to arguably the best RPG of all time is a silly notion. I am not here to talk up FF7, as you can go anywhere and get that, I am here to say, don't compare crappy RPG games with the elite few RPGs that are out there.
I would put Lost Odyssey on par with Enchanted Arms. Both games are played a little different, but both are about as awesome as each other.
