Been thinking of trying one of the games out thanks to enjoying the Persona 4 anime. Should I get the copy of Persona 3 FES I found at my store, or just get Persona 4?

Persona 4 hands down. Persona 3 is very good, but 4 addresses the problems 3 had and improves everything. As far as I'm concerned, Persona 4 is the best JRPG in years.

i know im in the minority and probably really should finish pe4 b4 i chime in but i feel like pe3 had a better story, characters and a darker atmosphere, gameplaywise i might give the edge to pe4 tho, you get alot more control over the battle and characters


i own both original pe3 and the fes model, the fes offers a lot more for your money since it includes the game, a side story on one of the main characters lets you fuse demons to weapons now i believe and added alot more social interactions than the original, just my 2 cents tho


im still really early in pe4 tho, maybe like 12 hour or so in so i cant be sure how it'll all play out in the end

I'm on board with all of this.

I'm also still in the beginning of P4. Didn't even make it half as far as LaughingMAN. Here's the thing: P3 was compelling, beginning to end, and I poured 120+ hours into it easily. P4 lost my interest by hour 5.

Snag that P3 FES.

Play Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga. Far better than any Persona game.

Persona 4 had a better everything, but I like to go back to Persona 3 now and then because of the different story and characters. Just one warning though: If you are going to get Persona 3, get the Portable version if you have a PSP. Better than the console version, especially the female route which had improved dialogue and social links.

In terms of quality, I would say SMT: Nocturne>Persona 4>Persona 3>Digital Devil Saga. In terms of fun, I would say Persona 4>Persona 3>SMT: Nocturne> Digital Devil Saga. Nocturne is great, but that doesn't make Persona 3 or 4 any less worth playing.
