So I have a Panasonic 3DO FZ-1 that is having issues opening the cd tray. I've opened it up to see the problem and it looks like the motor may not be strong enough to pull the disk spinner down anymore...

so the my question is, does anyone know where i can get a new motor for my 3do...

Pardon my ignorance but what is a disc spinner?

Given the FZ-1 is a tray based console I can't for the life of me figure out what a disc spinner is or why a motor would pull it down. From what little I can recall the "top" piece is magnetic and drops onto the spindle while the motor spins the disc. The motor that spins the disc doesn't touch the magnetic piece, it simply falls into place by virtue of physics.

Disc spinner?

the way a 3do works (this model at least) when the draw opens the device that grabs the disc to spin it pops down so the draw can open. when the draw is closed this part pops up and makes contact with a magnet so the disk stays in place.

on mine the motor seems to no longer be strong enough to pull the device down from the magnet...

understand?

Try to grease it up so that it would be easier on the motor. Plus you can try to loosen some of the screws around the area where the gears are. On mine, I had to remove two small screws that was housing the gear that would move the CD lens. Somehow the housing stops the gears from moving.
