We're happy to remark on the tenth anniversary of the original Xbox, but it gets a little weird when Microsoft barges (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/15/free-avatar-prop-for-xbox-10th-anniversary/) into our solemn vigil with a birthday cake.
This is the company that couldn't pull the plug on its muscular and costly console fast enough -- and not just because it was about to incinerate your house (http://www.joystiq.com/2005/02/17/14-million-xbox-units-need-a-new-power-cord/). Microsoft's rapid prudence allowed it to rein in the hardware for its next system, and to successfully transplant Xbox Live into a body now recognized for its sustainability, if not its fragility.
It worked out for the business, but didn't leave much time for less popular system-exclusive games to flourish or to be found. Ironically, the Xbox commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s3weEpX5QU&feature=related) that drew the most ire, after it crudely launched a baby through a window and into a cemetery, proved that there can be some truth in advertising after all. "Life is short," it said, "play more." We wrongly figured it was talking about us.
After the break: A list of our favorite, often overlooked Xbox games.Continue reading The 10 best Xbox exclusives (no spartans allowed) (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/15/the-10-best-xbox-exclusives-no-spartans-allowed/)

Article title is very misleading. Right in the introduction is says "Our favorite, but often overlooked games", indicating it is supposed to be a list of sleeper exclusives.
Real Xbox exclusives have to include games like Ninja Gaiden Black, Conker Reloaded and Stubbs the Zombie...
I own 60% of the games on that list.

Since its the tenth anniversary, I figured we should all give our picks for our ten favorite games for the system. Ten for ten only seems right.
So here's a personal top 10. Links to reviews I wrote are embedded. As soon as I finish up my NES top 100, expect a top 25 Original Xbox list, hopefully before the end of the year.
My picks (in alphabetical order)
Doom 3
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate (http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2010/12/23/dead-or-alive-2-ultimate-review-xbox//)
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2010/06/19/dreamfall-the-longest-journey-review-xboxpc//)
Fatal Frame (http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/2011/01/13/fatal-frame-1-review-xboxps2-2//)
Jet Set Radio Future
Heroes of the Pacific
Metal Wolf Chaos
Otogi: Myth of Demons
Outrun 2006
Serious Sam
Feel free to chime in with your thoughts on my list and your own top 10. Happy anniversary, Xbox!

This was also on PSP and PS2.

Having a top 10 list of Xbox titles without Halo seems like a top 10 list of Nintendo titles without a Zelda or Mario. I'm more partial to Halo 2 than Halo 1, but I imagine you'd have to have at least one of them somewhere in a top 10.

lol, they sent me one of those replacement cords and within the year it (the cord, not the system) crapped out, so I just went back to the one it came with. Haven't started a fire yet in the 10 years I've had the thing. Still use it almost daily as a media center.
I like the system, but don't know if I could even come up with a top 10 exclusives list. Lots of stuff was also on PS2, but better on Xbox.

If we're going to be picking nits, both Stubbs and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath were ported to the PC as well.

well yeah there's the oddbox but that shouldn't count, it barely even runs as is.
Also, sorry for the double post earlier.

A "Top 10" list of Xbox exclusives(not counting Halo games) isn't complete without mentioning both Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic games. Yes I know they were also released on Pc but I'm talking about console exclusives and if you only play on consoles(like I do) then you'd need an Xbox for them.

I'm surprised that they somehow managed to get dreamfall onto the original X-box, that game killed my computer at the time.
A little off topic but I am genuinely pissed that we get left with a cliffhanger like that while Tornquist makes The Secret World. Dreamfall and The Longest Jorrney both got me back into adventure games and I wanna see the next "chapter" so badly. lol

Good list, except for Buffy. I'd swap that out for Blinx or Kung Fu Chaos or something.

Petit Copter
Petit Copter saw a PS2 port by the same name in Japan. And it's called Go Go Copter in Europe and was released for the PS2. There's also a PS2 sequel called Petit Copter 2 in Japan and Radio Helicopter II in Europe.
Nice games that I can't believe someone didn't license and take a chance on over here.

Oh man, Metal Wolf Chaos...!
We need more game stories involving the president annihilating his enemies with secret mecha.

To hell with computer games, no mention of Morrowind? Like to of seen another console try to pull that off at the time.
Also :
Stubbs
Land of the Dead
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Doom 3

Never really owned that many Xbox games, but my 3 favorite Xbox exclusives are:
Stubbs the Zombie
Dreamfall
JSRF
Test Drive Eve of Destruction. One of my favorite recent racing games. And to think, nobody has released anything on current gen systems to date that can compete with it. To list a top ten would be pretty mundane at this point.

It's on the list mentioned, dude. But for what it's worth, Orta is good from what I've seen.

Except the Zelda and Mario NES and SNES games are awesome. I don't give a shit about Halo, and apparently I'm not the only one.
Here is a list of the top 10 X-Box games I can think of that I really like. Halo games are not on there:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2
Jade Empire
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Panzar Dragoon: Orta
Jet Set Radio Future
Outrun 2006 Coast2Coast
Shenmue II
Mercenaries
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
I haven't played the Otogi games, unfortunately. I have played Halo 1 and 2. Yup, they aren't on the list. I don't hate them. I like them well enough, but they are not games I go back to again and again. The games above are ALL ones I like to play again every now and then.
