According to a new survey by RealNetworks' GameHouse -- in which over 2,000 adults in the U.S. participated in -- women who play online games "have more sex" than those who do not. The survey also notes that among the more sexual active female online gamers, a majority of them have sex more than once a week, and have children under the age of 18.

We should note that the survey results overall suggest that female online gamers are more active in many aspects of life, and not just in the bedroom, including exercise and socializing.

You can check out the survey's full results on GeekWire.

There are no girls on the internet.

I'd say that goes for games too.

Guys in drag? Or do you just have more than one left hand?

I'm sorry, that was horrible.

Sounds like they have higher testosterone levels than average, which would increase their libido and make them more competitive. Higher testosterone levels also increase noradrenaline, which would give them more energy for physical activity.

I'm 24. Girls my age consist of a lot of gamers. Especially RPG'ers

I'm 27, same results. Interesting note, a buddy of mine works for the state of California and has found a number of his older coworkers (women ranging from 60 to 80) have started chit chatting about Final Fantasy and such on breaks. They've all suddenly taken an interest in RPGs. I commented that many RPGs are like Days of Our Lives, but pretty.

Florida vs. Seattle maybe? We're the big city here. Technology is rampant.

I'm 33 and no girls in my age group play games, but I've met many girls in their 20s who do. And they play GOOD games too. My wifes friend has a sweet gaming pc and she plays bioshock and fallout 3. She also has a 360 and shes currently playing through Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

We've got a few hardcore girls on these forums, too. And they have great collections.

Well to be honest all the girls I know in florida game, but that's strickly due to the fact that all the girls I met through my college and my college was strickly for computer animation... ie only girls that want to make video games went to my school, so clearly they would game if they want to go into making video games... I didn't really count that cuz the odds are horribly stacked... I was more talking about my home city of DC where all the girls I knew def were not into gaming... so maybe I lied a little...

I only know a couple girls who actually play non casual games. Every other girl I know doesn't like gaming at all outside of casual.

True that. Almost half of my friends list are females, including one of my best friends who I met playing Halo 2 way back in 2007. Theres definitely alot of girls/women that game but what I've noticed lately on XBL(and from articles I've read) is that many of them get harassed so much from immature idiots that they no longer use their mic while playing online multiplayer.

i've definitely got a few friends who are of the female sort that hardcore game, but they're without question few and far between.

i find it to be a mild turn on as well.

I've noticed that the older a hardcore female gamer is, the more likely she's gay.

Of course, this is from my own personal experience and I have no idea if that's true in general, but it's still interesting.

You're probably right. Older games were more challenging, and would require the player to have a stronger will and a desire to conquer all adversity. For that you would need a high level of testosterone. Lesbians tend to have higher levels of testosterone, which is why many of them play sports.
