Yeah I understand the the anime dvd that comes with it , but really $50?
I heard the whole series is repetive and there wernt at any improvements in
mutation/part2 and I think the game should be $20 each if it were still the same game over and over. whats your opinion?

Back in "MY" day, we had to pay $50 for NES games, since then, inflation has made $50 a bit less than it was in my day, thus $50 for a new game is a decent price.

Really, in my opinion I'd say it's worth renting once and then never touching again. Game looked real sweet, but it was just the same thing over and over. it was a good idea though.

I don't think the question is the price because just about every new game these days are 50 dollars.
It's the standard.. there's no avoiding it.
It's more of a question do you want to play the game?
Read some reviews, rent it.. find out if it's right for you.
That's what I do anyways. :)

From what I heard the rpgs are short so obviously they are parts of the 4-part story. IMO the $50 tag is partly cause it comes with the anime along with the game (which I wouldn't mind doqnloading once I beef my PC so it doesn't puke up DivX encoded files). And in .hack//SIGN's defense it starts slow like a trickle and once thing sbuild up and it makes sense it starts gushing like a waterfall.

I'd rather they were in the $30 range.

You can get the first one for $30 at least. Actually $25. Best Buy is selling it for $30, use a Gamer's Coupon $5 off dealie...and there you go. I've been considering it myself...but so many Saturn games to buy...sigh.

You misunderstand. It's not that each volume of .hack retails for $50; it's that Bandai took a single lengthy RPG and split it up into four parts, so they could charge $200. Of course, Bandai would prefer you think of .hack as four games with four bonus DVDs, but we know better.
The .hack DVDs remind me of Shadow of the Beast for the Amiga, which came with a "free" T-shirt -- and a retail price $10 higher than other Amiga games.

I haven't played any of the games yet (I've got 28 untouched RPG's in my collection, I'm already busy), but I think it'll be an interesting collection to have down the line, $20 a piece or something.

The first game is a good 5 day renter.. It can be finished in 25 hours or less.

You found the time to play for five hours a day? Wow.
I rather enjoyed the demos of the first two .hack titles, but I'm not sure if I'd pay more than $25 per volume (and thus, a dollar per hour of game). Maybe I'll stop by my local Best Buy . . .
