Picked up my copy of King of Fighters XIII today. I skipped XII, so this is new to me. You get a set of 4 soundtrack CDs with it! I haven't played it much yet, but I like it so far. It's just... KOF, with really nice graphics.
What do you think?

I did the same thing. I bought KoF XI on release day and loved it. Naturally I was VERY excited when KoF XII was announced, but once I found out that it was basically unfinished I decided to hold off.
I pre-ordered KoF XIII from Amazon. It's supposed to arrive today but so far there is no package on my porch or in my mailbox. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow.
Originally I was just going to wait and ask for it for Christmas, but I couldn't pass up the 4 CD pre-order bonus. I love my video game music!

Got it yesterday, aside from the netcode it's pretty much the best FG to come out in the last few years. The execution is pretty brutal compared to it's current competitors but worth it imo.

It's pretty good. Much better than XII, not quite as good as XI.
I've had pretty decent luck with the netcode, which surprised me.

I bought it but i think i may have to sell it. Tons of Lag online and waiting 3 seconds after the announcer says "GO!" just to move your character with no real indication as to when the round starts is the most annoying thing ever.

Online is absolute garbage, but the game itself is very very good. I'm going to stick with it for a while: there's a couple of local guys who are playing, so I can muck around with them.
For teams, I think I'm going with Ash, Billy Kane, and Vice, or if I actually want to win, Kyo, Billy Kane, and Mature.

Having been playing it through dubious means for a few months now, I'm really digging the console version. It's a very solid KOF game, and has already become one of my favorite ones.
Haven't tried it online yet, but soon.

If you'd played XII, it would be new to you too. ;) XII was a completely different game, which played more like Garou: MOTW than other KOF games.
I got my copy in the mail Wednesday. Haven't played it online yet, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I played the arcade version at Southtown and it was awesome, but the home version is even better.
Saiki is a great addition to the game. I'm really enjoying his playstyle.

I've always been a fan of the KOF games, and I've played many of them since the first, but I'm hardly an expert or tournament level player.
I played a good amount of XIII yesterday at NAVA and was very impressed with the product and presentation. I had skipped XII based on negative reviews, but if this is even marginally better it seems like a winner.
I'll very likely pick it up at some point.
Bought it and I was floored. Amazing game, and being a fan of older-SNK titles I was giggly like a little kid.
Spectacular graphics, great system, jaw-dropping character art and the return of some of my favorite characters and character versions/outfits I hadn't seen in 20 years has made me a very happy guy. I'll be playing this for years to come.

I absolutely love this game. It really makes me miss the KoF series. Right now, my team is Mature/King/Billy, although it's subject to change. I'm still messing around with a lot of the characters.
I just wish that they did a better job with the netcode. Seriously, if the netcode was as good as SSFIV's or BlazBlue's netcode, then this would be the main game I'd play. I just have to find a local group of people to play this with.

I was thinking about how much I enjoyed playing KOF XIII at NAVA, so I bit the bullet and picked it up today.
Looking forward to playing some later ... and WOW that 4 CD soundtrack set that came with it is really really nice.

If anyone wants to *attempt* some online matches on Xbox Live, my GT is Cannon Spook. I've played about 10 ranked matches, and I'd say about 3 of them were played with no complaints. It's funny; I see Dream Theater playing this online all the time. I need to ask him about the netcode sometime.

Well shit: I picked it up on PS3. Maybe after Christmas I'll pick it up on 360 and we can try to play.
As an aside: Billy is SO cheap. I love him.

I played a good 5 or 6 matches on PSN and didn't have any issue with lag or delay, I even left the connection speed preference setting on its default.

Lucky you. Every match I've tried is unplayable.

I've found every 2-bar match I've tried to be playable. A lot better than I was expecting.

*shrug* Yeah, don't know man. I was expecting it to potentially be very shitty.
I hosted all of the matches, maybe my opponents were geographically local to me.

Maybe. You're east coast too, right? Maybe there's not enough Midwest love for KoF. I'm pretty sensitive to lag, but even if I weren't, I'm getting a full second of delay, here. Good luck drive cancelling with that.
Maybe they'll patch it.

We picked up KoF XIII for 360 (with the 4 CD soundtrack) for $37.50 on clearance at HMV, and it's pretty cool. We tried playing an online match and had no problem whatsoever (my 360 is connected via Ethernet to the router, so maybe that helped?). All in all, it is a solid game, although I'm not someone who's very knowledgeable about fighting games. I wouldn't play a marathon session, but a few matches at a time is fine with me. :)
Now, we just need to get a fighting game joystick...

It's really the best fighting game to come out in years.
The series isn't as popular here as it is in Asia or Latin/South America, but on its own merits, its better than anything that Capcom or Namco is putting out these days.

I wish it had netcode worth the name. There's only one or two guys locally that play KoF XIII, and they're not serious about it. That means I don't play it very much.
The actual game itself is fantastic, though. It'll go down as a classic.

I played it locally with a friend who bought it, and it is fantastic. I need to pick it up eventually. Mai's boobs are ridiculous.

I'm not a huge fan of fighting games, and I know I'm not gonna play long marathons at a time (unlike with other genres). However, what little I've played I liked it. :)

I really wanted to love this game but atlus won't let it support USB pads that don't have hoe buttons. MY USB sega saturn controller that works on blazblue, tekken, street fighter 4, etc, doesn't work on it and there answer was basically " fuck you, buy a real controller" so that and the horrible one bar online connections to mexico and brazil aren't doing it for me.

Maybe you could start a local scene where you live rather than complaining. I'll never forget the intense 'best of 30 rounds' battle a friend and I had with Soul Calibur 2. Extreeeeeme!
I had read on other forums about the home button problem on some sticks. Does that affect people that use a PS2 to PS3 controller adapter?

Wolfkrone was playing KoF a week or so after the game came out at ranbats, so I think you're OK.

I just downloaded it on plus myself, I haven't played a kof game since 95' looking forward to trying it today!
Mr. Karate is possibly the best DLC I've bought for any game. I don't care too much for DLC, and I really don't care for on-disk DLC, but the SNK fanboy in me loved it.
His moves are awesome, his background is awesome, and the way all the other characters treat him like a total badass was enough to make me giddy.
