Is it better in anyone's opinion to get separate component cables or get one that works with both? I'm new to this and not sure and would like to here from someone that knows. Trying to go as cheap as I can but don't want to buy or waste money. Any brand better than others with these? I appreciate any help you can offer.:|

I went the combo route for my Wii/PS2 so I wouldn't have to use all my precious (at the time, before everything went HDMI) component inputs on the TV. I forget the brand (maybe Pelican?), but it's a PS2/3/360/Wii component cable, and while picture quality is great, if I leave it plugged in to the PS2 AND Wii, no sound comes out. This has forced me to unplug the cable from my PS2 (or Wii, on those now-rare PS2 days) to make sure I have audio.
A minor gripe, sure, but definitely something worth noting.
FWIW, I use HDMI on my 360/PS3, so I have never tested it with those systems.

*Edit* Also, the amount of space between the PS & Wii prongs is VERY short. I have to smush the two systems right next to each other to utilize the multi-system-ness of it all. Often while unplugging one system, the other will tip over and I have to catch it. Definitely a lot more annoying.

They explicity state not to plug more than one system into these. It can cause damage and at least a couple of DP users have experienced that over the years. They're meant to save hassle unhooking cables behind a tv, they're not designed to hook up multiple systems at the same time.

If your TV has enough component inputs that you can connect everything at once, go for the separate ones. If it doesn't, go with a multi cable.

I'm still on s-video, but I've never had a problem with multi ones (unless plugged into more than one system at the same time, of course).
