Almost everything goes less than $20 sometime.

Yakuza 3
Yakuza 4
Valkyria Chronicles
Mirror's Edge
Dante's Inferno
3D Dot Game Heroes
Armored Core 4
Armored Core For Answer
Uncharted 2 GotY
Uncharted
Resident Evil 5
Devil May Cry 4
Demon's Souls
Grand Theft Auto 4
Oblivion GotY
The Saboteur
Sacred 2. Best Diablo clone to date aside from, obviously, Diablo 2. Although I like Diablo 2 better, I'm more interested in a yet to be announced as getting past working project Sacred 3 than I am Diablo 3.

While not under $20. Lords of Shadows is amazing and worth spending the extra money. Tied as my favorite stylish action game, right along with DMC3. Heavy Rain also isn't under $20 either.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard

This game is basically a parody of games, and will have you laughing your ass off at many points. It's a shame it didn't do extremely well, but don't let that stop you from picking up one of the best cheap games on the PS3.

Vanquish. One of my favorite current gen games, and it's been $5-$10 lately during Best Buy/K-Mart sales. It's a frantic 3rd person action game... almost like a shmup.

Oh, and it's mentioned already, but I can't say enough good things about 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's totally like classic NES Zelda 1 for the PS3. It's a celebration of pixel art and the overhead action-adventure genre.

Neir.
10$'Nier' rather, and $10 sounds about right. Knowing what I know now (I'm currently playing it) I wouldn't pay a dollar more. So much fetch quest tedium, and I swear I never stop being amazed at how ugly the lead character is. He looks like a fucking monster.

Do downloads count?

Different strokes for different folks, ymmv, etc..., but I really liked
- Gravity Crash
- Shooter

Each is a $10 download game.

The games are similar to each other in a lot of respects, but do maintain their own identities and character.

In both games you control a small spacecraft like that in Asteroids (left/right/thrust/fire).

IN Shooter you need to navigate through caverns and rescue miners, while avoiding various dangers. A lot of times there are puzzles to be solved, to figure out how to save the miners, how to access different areas, etc...

In Gravity Crash, there is a lot more enemy fire coming at you, and gravity plays a big role. Your objective in Gravity Crash is also to navigate various caverns and achieve objectives (blow up 5 power plants, for example), but the look and feel are very different from Shooter.

As I explain these games, I can't really identify anything objective that differentiates them, but they don't feel anything alike for whatever reason. Shooter feels more whimsical and easygoing, while Gravity Crash is more intense and reminiscent of Gravitar. (Gravity Crash looks like a color vector game in a lot of ways.)

I think both are great games, and there are demos available for each, so you can certainly try before you buy.

The voice acting is fantastic fwiw. Everything else about the game definitely goes to the meh category though, yet somehow it's fun if you mostly skip the aforementioned sidequests.

Oblivion GOTY and Fallout 3 GOTY are probably around 20 bucks now, if you are interested in open world massive adventures then these are the games for you. You can can sink hundreds of hours into each title and still not find everything to do, IMO they are some of the best cost/entertainment ratios of any game I've played before..but only if your into their particular style of gameplay.

If your a fan of Metal Gear I would suggest MGS4, however if your not a fan of the series you'll probably find the game lacking.
